They look decent from the pics. I guess seeing them in person will be the deciding factor. I do like CC, RB, and SS. The rest are more wait and see.

The more I look at the close up shots of CC the less sure I am about that helmet. It's the sculpted mini snake on the brow.

"yo dawg, I heard you like snakes, so we put a snake on your snake"

At least that's how it's starting to look to me. Great design otherwise. I'm also now confident that everyone but Duke and Rockblock have wrist artic, so it's probably safe to assume they all do.

I like these in general. I'm glad that the movie stuff mirrors the classic designs more closely this time around. Lots of great looking fodder. I think those Cobra Troopers might work as bases for some of those new Blue Ninjas, and Zartan will be a great start for Satan.

You can see rocker ankles on the Joe trooper as well. There's some lines in that area that make me think Roadblock does too. Can't tell if they all have wrist joints or not. I'd love the swivel/hinge we've been getting, but I hope they all have at least a swivel.

Starting to think we might see 5 poa vehicle drivers this time around too. At least they still have ball jointed heads. That way even if the bodies suck I don't have to do a ton of work to use the heads. Really hope I'm wrong on that assumption though. We should know in a week or so though.

I hope you're right. I think the only way the feet of the Joe trooper are articulated is if the black boots are plugged into the pants a la Renegades Duke (or POC Duke/Spirit). This figure does appear to have double-jointed knees, so I think that's likely.

I don't see any articulation at the feet of the Roadblock figure. I can see what you're talking about, and, again, I hope you're right. I also hope we'll find out at ToyFair, but considering the poor amount of information available at the last one, I don't know that we will.

I'm a disappointed fan.

EDIT -- I see what you're saying, HypnoHustler, about the rocker ankles on the Joe trooper. I think they're there. I can almost see the same thing on Zartan. Hopefully they all have them.

CC looks a lot like Interrogator.

Cobra Commander looks like Cobra Commander. Though in all fairness, we saw CC's last suit for 5 minutes of screen time, and he really wasn't even "Cobra Commander" because Cobra didn't actually exist. He just boasted about it before being captured. Though it'll probably be the only mold I get from the movie line, barring any other decent CC suits that look classic enough. Unfortunately, we'll probably get better stuff in waves 2 and 3, which most stores won't even stock as they'll over order wave 1.

With all the talk of people wanting to army build the Red Ninjas and Joe troopers, and the solid Cobra trooper, plus the cross over appeal with wrestling fans that will buy Roadblock, the only potential peg warmers would be Storm Shadow (most agree it a great looking figure), Snake Eyes, Duke and Zartan. Most parents will buy their kids the "cool" ninja figures like Snake Eyes and and Storm Shadow figures the collectors leave behind. Parents will also buy Duke since he's the "all American" clean cut guy. I predict the only peg warmer will be Zartan but even he won't be flooding the pegs.

I think Hasbro has a solid wave one and most of it will move quickly between the collectors and the parents.

Duke will be the dud of that wave.
He looks too generic which might appeal to customizers, but kids might want more bling for their buck. He'll be as popular as Nerf launching Duke.

I agree. Zartan is a cool enough figure and the character certainly has fans who will grab him.

This Duke isn't anything special. Add in his rumored early demise and I doubt people will be clamoring for him. Then we have RoC haters and Duke despisers who will flat out boycott this figure. Honestly the only people I see going out of their way to get this Duke figure are customizers and parents who don't know any better.

Mark my words, Duke doesn't die in the movie. In the cartoon he went into a coma. He's either in a coma (hospital bed, whatever) or he's caught and being held prisoner. The first movie set up too my between Duke / Cobra Commander and Baroness for him to bite the bullet.

And until I get that Zartan in front of me I say he's a bad power rangers reject villain. :)

Beyond the numerous hoods that had a Cobra emblem printed on it, there was also the V13 head which had a giant stretched emblem taking up the entire face(which was also used for one of the old 12" figures, and the Sideshow head), plus V15 which had one molded onto the helmet. It's not exactly a new idea and looks far better than the entire face emblem.

I look at it and I think "Cobra Commander". yeah, it could be a Viper, but it's not. It has enough to suggest it's CC and not some troop. It's certainly a step up from the "trying to be Darth Vader" look of the last film.

I don't really care for Duke, not for the toy but because the film's version of Dukle wasn't even close to the past versions in terms of character. He was a stuffy jerkwad. The only toy I'm not feeling is Zartan because it's too skinny and looks unfinished. Zartan might have ninja training but he's more of a punk that happens to have skills. I also wonder why they're doing this... I guess he changes appearance in the film?

At this point Snake Eyes, Duke, Storm Shadow, and Cobra Commander have been beaten to a bloody pulp, smashed with a shovel, buried, dug up, reanimated, and further beaten into oblivion with their various 18 billion versions. I absolutely cannot find the ability to get excited about more figures of them.

Roadblock looks awesome and I'll get the CC because I'm a sucker for him.

I understand the new versions and repaints of these core characters will never stop, but like I said it's nearly impossible to be excited about them at this point no matter how good they might look.
