I guess for me it would have to be the Flagg. Had it since I was a kid. Someday I would love to have the room to set it up and go about re-completing it.

Mine would be a gold head Steel Brigade. I bought it for 5 bucks about 8 years ago, and had no idea of its rarity at the time. It was not MIB, but it had never been played with. The arms and legs had the fresh out of package "click" when I moved them.

i don't know if I can just say one item.. I have a couple of different things that if I had to get rid of everything else, i would keep for various reasons.
Some of those things include my reissue optimus prime.. my mail away duke still sealed in the baggie, Super Powers Batmobile with batman, the Skystriker (one of my earliest Joe vehicles as a kid), and my box of Joe trading cards. Things that trigger nostalgia.
I have 5 of those old black Joe carrying cases filled with pristine samples of the first 3 years worth of Joes. Absolute Mint. Nobody really knows they are in there except for me.

While I wouldn't keep the Flagg, everyone always talks about it. Relatives, In-laws, people that stop over (including our insurance guy, who was a bit older, maybe 40, but could not get over the fact I had one, said he hadn't seen one since he was around 12 years old.)

I think my capstone would be my custom cardback that has a filecard with my stats on it and a couple of blurbs about myself. It has 84 Duke as the front picture, my name, and specialty is Groom. I handed custom cardbacks out to all my groomsmen, and had one made for myself while I was at it.

Mine would have to be my original 1984 Storm Shadow which is complete except for filecard and in pristine condition. I was a picky kid and never really "abused" my things. It's special due to the fact it's the only figure I have from my childhood collection. Long ago I had (stupidly) sold off my entire collection except for him since he was my favorite.

I remember wanting SS badly and searched all over until I finally found him at K-mart. To this day, I remember the awesome feeling when I had finally found him. I think he was so hard to find since a year had passed since his release. I'm not even sure how I paid for him since I was roughly 7 years old. I'm guessing it was my parents or maybe it was my allowance but that sort of adds a mystique to him as well. If I had to get rid of everything and keep just one item, that would be it.

For me, it would be my two plantation locomotives I built for my garden railroad in scale with my S6 figures. I figure there are not many ~1:9 scale locomotives around, and no others made for GI Joes. The red one was modified from a plastic model. The purple one, aside from the mechanism, was scratchbuilt from sheet metal and metal food containers.

My Complete Tiger Fly, Tiger Rat and Tiger Shark - What can I say I was a sucker for old Tiger Force Stuff.
My shrine to Barbecue is also a soft spot. it is the one GI Joe my father owns one too! Being Firefighters is one of the few things we agree on. I have extra of the Eco Warriors version because I use that figure as Inferno from Sigma Six and one with a different head as Back draft (Inferno from Cops)

I can't really think of any one thing that would be that "capstone" but there are a few things that I hold a good place in my collection.

Childhood Vamp, Clutch, CG, and Outback. These guys got the most play and have always stuck around.

There are a lot of customs laying about that I have received from people over the years that mean a lot as just that show of friendship in this hobby.

A couple international figures do hold a good place though. One of which, if I am not mistaken I got because of Mike T. Its been a few years ago but I was able to get my hands on a carded yellow torpedo and I still enjoy the figure. Anytime I get Carded stuff out I tend to look at this one for a bit longer..

I don't think I have one, for my Joe collection. Maybe if I could ever find a frikken in Skyhawk in stores....

The closest I come is my custom 25 V1 Duke, that I really need to get pictures of, and posted. I don't remember what order I got my first three Joe figures in, or if I got them at the same time, but V1.5 Duke was my first Joe. The other two were Destro and a Cobra Trooper. I've now got a very nice modern update of him put together, complete with proper gear.

Untill '08, my collecting focused on Transformers. That collection's capstone would have to be the 15 different Optimus Primes.

Mine would be this little guy right here.

Image

A night creeper that my second daughter painted when she was only 4 or 5.
It's the only thing really I have left of her, and if the house was on fire the only thing I would go back in for in my joe room.

Not worth a dime to anyone else, but to me I wouldnt sell it for anything.

I think I have 2

One is my American Defense clear ninja named "Hidden Force." Remember seeing it at a K-mart as a kid, and not getting it. Then, years later, I found one. I wasn't sure if it actually existed until I found it.

Second is my Flagg. It used to be mine and Chad's, and we sold it to a neighbor for $30. When we started collecting again, we tried to get it back, but his mom wouldn't let him get rid of it. A few years later he came to the house and said if we wanted it, to come and get it. It was still in decent shape, with a few broken pieces, but all in all around 92% complete. For Christmas this year, my mom got an eight foot table for me to display it. It looks so much better on a table than it did in the floor.

Truly awesome. You should put that in one of those figure clam shells and hang it up somewhere prominent.

I almost forgot, one really unique thing that I have that only a handful of collectors may still own that's pretty neat is a GodBook from Wizards of the Coast of the original trading card game. It has all the cards printed out in nine grid sheets showing them before they went to print as actual cards. Even though the card game's defunct I still think it's a pretty cool collectible.
