well, I am definitely getting rid of the plane now.

The wife comes in, sees me playing with it, says

Now I can't even look at the thing without her going, is there something I should know.

Also, did anyone else see the big navy ship at the DG? Looked terrible, but had a sickly little firebat with it, or maybe a sickly corps jet.

I found mine at a Dollar General, but I had to look inside of two stores to find it.

I also went to Family Dollar (or Dirty Dollar, as I call it), to look for the $3 joes. FD had none.

he DG store had it along a wall onto top of the shelving. The package has a lime neon green plastic "tray thing" that the pseudo Firebat and Vamp are cradled in. Look for the lime neon green and you'll find it.

Hands down, these are the best vehicles for the 25A figures from a price & fun point- and they're not even Hasbro's.

Anyone finding these anywhere other than Family Dollar or Dollar General? I have neither of those anywhere near me.

Was it an aircraft carrier with 3 little blue firebats (or trubble bubbles with wings, really)?

Yeah, it looked way unrealistic, but looked like it could have some play-fun.

(shrug)

Saw a couple today at my DG, along w/ about 3 sets of the Vamp/Plane set
Wish I saw the ROCC set...

EDIT:
A little search online came up with this. It's sold out but that doesn't mean it couldn't
be found at a local TRU...

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3045233

Not quite the same thing (I'm missing the computers in the main command center part)
but still kinda cool...

EDIT 2:
Found a picture of the aircraft carrier too... under a CPSC link!
http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml07/07035.html

Image

The one I saw at DG wasn't quite like the one in the picture, maybe they
found a way around the lead based paint. The small vehicles looked
different ... more "cutesy"... Will snap a photo if I go back.

I finally got a minute to fix the doors on the jeep:

I made a longer piece of plastic to go inside the door so it had more area to put glue. It's not 100% necessary to do such a long piece, but I felt more secure. But all it takes is just putting some plastic inside the door and rounding off the area that clicks inside. This allows you to click the door closed and pop it open. The bottom picture shows how it's just enough plastic to catch inside the door but not so much that it'll firmly keep you from opening it again.

These pics are for those that needed to see the fix before they tried it. Next up when I get time is to put windows in this thing.
