So glad I was picky with the single releases. I'll happily get these and open the heck out of them.

Sweet!

Baroness looks great! The rest are okay.

Everyone one of these figures is good. But only the chrome Viper is really a radical departure from what's already out there. That figure is going to be fantastic.

Timber looks interesting, but like the open mouth of the oversized Junkyard or Lamont's nose to the ground, it's a bit of an awkward sculpt.

This would have been a good time for Hasbro to release Hawk with blonde hair or Zartan with the sun-reacting grey skin.

I guess I fall into the "Meh" group. Not big enough changes and "wow" factor for me to get a bunch of figures I don't want. If sold individually, I probably would have picked most of them. As sets, I just can't convence myself to get both these sets just to watch them release repaints of these new/modified figures later on.

I should add, I do like what they did. Well, except for Flint's and Shipwreck's squished faces. I like that they took the time to revisit these core characters and try to improve their looks. If they would have been released first I would have been over joyed. Like I said, individually, even though I have 28 Storm Shadows already, I probably would have gotten this one and maybe Shipwreck, Snake Eyes, and Lady Jaye, if for no other reason than the accessories.

Wow, I'm dead impressed with both sets. The Joe set will do me, since I don't have a proper Flint, Snake Eyes, Lady Jaye or Shipwreck yet (not that I'm a fan of him). As I've managed to keep from buying a CC, I'm happy with this set, as I don't have that Storm Shadow, and that's the only version of Baroness I'd ever go for - pity Zartan's in there, as I just picked up the carded Zartan :(

Oh, and I do hope that the Viper has had some surgery like Flint has, with actually improved arms - the current Vipers are damn annoying!

I'm just blown away by how much new tooling is here, and what it means for the variety we might get with Resolute. Hasbro's done a good job expanding their mold pool with more generic bodies.

Lady Jaye has a more modest top, and new boots. If the pants colors match the DVD release, I'll be switching out the legs, leaving the modest shirt and little booties for an inevitable Daina repaint. If the flesh matches, I'll also be switching out the lower arms for the swivel wrists! That'll leave me with a sexy, military, fully-posable Lady Jaye, and a totally different uniform design for Daina!

Flint is a nice attempt at fixing the mold, but I was happy with the Tiger Force mods. So I'll be using this body as a base, but adding the Wave 1 head, webgear and a black version of the SpyTroops shotgun. If the backpack is 1984 accurate, I'll probably throw that in, too.

Shipwreck is cool, but maybe as an alternate body for Deep Six... Shipwreck needs the Longshoreman arms and the open shirt! Also, I've had my Shippy toting Snake-Eyes' gray demolition bag since Wave 3 '07. The only thing I really need for this guy is that awesome new Polly! Finally, she can fly!

The Viper is killing me, tho...Back in the spring when they initially hit stores, we weren't seeing nearly as much retooling as we are now. I truly believed the Vipers would never get another shot, especially with something as small as his forearms... So I bought 24 of them... and then I recently grabbed a number of FANG pilots and Arctic Vipers for their black rifles (and the Arctics for their painted goggles)... quiet a bit of wasted money if Hasbro eventually rereleases this new Viper in a smaller pack.

Also, does anyone else think that Hasbro's tooled up abrand new Viper helmet that fits over the Commander's new Battle Helmet from the DVD pack? It certainly looks like that's what's going on. I just don't see how Hasbro can vac-metalize only a part of the helmet. If these are ever released on single cards, or in a 2-pack with another army builder... that'll be the end of my life savings, and Hasbro's victory over the economic crisis!

Wow! These must be the Hall of Heroes versions.
:snakeeyes2: - We knew this was coming. New Timber!
:ladyjaye: - All new torso & arms. I bet the wrists swivel now! They even tried to give her lipstick color.
:hawk2: - Not much new but the cartoon inspired pants.
:flint: - Flint gets 3 heads & Short Fuse, Flash, Leatherneck don't get any!
:shipwreck: - Awesome! Much better head & arms. Too bad they erased the anchor belt buckle. New Polly!

:stormshadow: - Well they finally got his arms right. Gray belt & boots? Huh? I wish they would have fixed his gear. It is still backwards from the original. Looks like he's getting his nunchuks.
:baroness: - Wow an all new Baroness torso! It also looks like they made a new face & used the blue one's hair.
:comic_cobracommander: - Doesn't surprise me anymore. I like the cape since I didn't get the blue CG one.
:zartan: - They should have colored his armor dark blue like in the cartoon or figured out somehow to have it change from blue to pink. Same idea applies to the color shifting ink on our money.
:viper: - BEST VIPER EVER! I only got 2 of the current ones. They must make a Python Patrol version with a red chrome face plate!

Storm Shadow's lower legs and feet are new and the arms/hands are definitely new. Baroness is mostly new and very nice looking, worlds better than the schite 5 pack version we got last year.

Flint's suspenders and belt look new, the head definitely is. Shipwreck is almost if not completely new, same with Lady Jaye.

I definitely getting the Joe set. Maybe the Cobra set too, I dunno yet.

*runs to dump his single-carded Vipers on eBay*

Yeah, I think I might have to armybuild that new Viper.

And I have to say if they are giving us repaints like this at least they're throwing in some new parts to make the figures different enough to justify the $25 a set. I'll get a few just to have those new parts to play with.

I'm cutting Hasbro off on these sets. October and November has been officially reached obsene level with the amount of stuff released. I have spent so much that I really don't want to go back and look at the totals. The wost part is I only bought a couple of multiples of anything. Everything else was a single item. The figures are improved and look nice, but no. I just found a nice display spot for my original 3 box sets and I really don't care for them all that much. I like the box more than the contents. I would rather have the figures on single cards which I already have for all of these figures.

Sorry Hasbro, my wallet stood you up on this date. But it will be back begging for another beating later, count on that.

Okay, so my theory is that Baroness is the movie figure, possibly with some different parts, and that Lady Jaye is probably the movie Cover Girl with the MASS pack head. Which makes me wonder if the Shipwreck might not be using some movie figure parts as well. All I can do now is hope that that Viper gets some form of single carded release, since the arms alone make it infinitely superior to the first. Right now, I'm passing on the Cobra set, but I may break is I see it in person. I just don't have any interest in CC or Zartan though, and Stormy isn't that great.

I got mixed feeling.

There is some good improvements but they are all figures I already have. I honestly would have preferred them as single packs or at least include a couple new figures along with redos in the 5 set.

So, any chance of those new Viper arms being on the Viper in the upcoming Viper / Iron Grenader Comic pack?
