Hasbro using its oen kind of tape, with a certain pattern on it, would be the only way to tell.
I mean i couldnt even tell that the Swapped figure in the pic had'ne been done by hasbro. Someone
went through a LOT of effort to make that thing look factory fresh. The seal line was near perfection.


which in its self is sad, that someone puts hours of work in for 7$.

Saw two just today Target had the Hoth speeder bike set, well one was a Hoth Speeder the other was the Barc Speeder, debated about brining it up to someone, but....to be honest why bother after reading all of these post it seems like they just don't care. I then see the X30 with an Ace figure with a Bazooka head....WOW baby

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but today I found something at K-Mart that had me puzzeld.

I stopped in and was checking out the action figures. Down on the bottom shelf behind some 25th DVD packs was a lone 25th Cobra set. This is the one with Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, the Baroness, Destro, and a Cobra.

I flip the lid to check it out and notice something isn't right.

On the right side where the Baroness should be is a red hooded 25th Cobra Commander. I'm racking my brain to remember where the red hooded version was from (TRU pack?).

I take the set to the service desk. The lady working the counter asks about it and I explain I went to look at the inside and discovered someone had swapped one of the figures. I pointed to the artwork on the lid and then to the figure that was supposed to be inside.

I explained I was part of an online JOE forum and we have discussed finding tampered products on the shelves. She sees the issue and starts lifting the insert out. Sure enough there was signs of it being tampered with.

The thing was, whoever did it did one heck of a job to prevent damage to the plastic.

She stated she couldn't sell it to me and I said I certainly understood, let her know I was just doing my duty (so to speak), and that I was merely bringing it to the attention of the proper personnel so some unsuspecting kid or parent wouldn't get screwed over for not having the right items included.

Anyway, I was thanked for my actions and left the store knowing I had done something good.
