Does this make sense?--Retailers can order what Hasbro solicits by the wave or assortment...but Hasbro controls the numbers they produce of each offering. So looking at it like a 1 manufacturer for 1 retailer situation-- Hasbro can solicit Wave X to the store. The store orders 100 cases. Hasbro only decides to produce 80 cases of Wave X and then starts to ship them to the store.
Meanwhile, Hasbro then solicits Wave Y to the store. The store doesn't care about the 20 cases it never got of Wave X because Hasbro didn't charge them for it and immediately offered alternative product.

Yes, BUT. Hasbro can ship 20 cases Wave Z that they already had in stock with the 80 cases of Wave X as a substitute good with notice that it is replacing the 20 cases, retailer then accepts.

The distribution level seems to be forgotten a bit here. A retailer can order specific waves (whether they get them or not, I dunno), but once it gets to the distribution center, it all just becomes "GI Joe" as long as the UPC/DCPI or whatever is the same. So an individual store has no control over what they get sent from the distribution center, that much is absolutely true. The distro center may not even have much control over what it gets either, because of sales for the stores that it services. If Joe moves slowly in the area it supplies, it won't get the new waves as it will still have stock from older shipments yet to move.

...wait...so Jinx is an SDCC exclusive AND Lady Jaye is a NYCC exclusive?

Wow. Bravo, Hasbro. You've really made this into an art.

Is it just me or do most of the figures shown just now look like poorly hand painted samples? I could swear that they are little more than in-house customs, look at Lady Jaye's feet- you can see the original blueish plastic from Renegades Scarlett's boots in the ankle joints.

Not really impressed with what I am seeing so far except for the little Soundwave w/cassettes packed with the Shockwave HISS, that just plain rocks!

Add a little insult to injury by including a Cobra Commander with the HISS instead of a driver (if it matters). My biggest gripe with the tank is the gatling gun barrels' lack of detail. The lack of working treads blows, but those guns are sculpted at knock-off level.

Cyber Ninja...lol. Wraith lives!

Arishikage Tattoos for everyone!

Where's Firefly...one not in some motorcycle death grip pose?

Joe Colton...Yippie-kye-yay, Mr. Falcon!

Con stuff...again, they can spend tooling and production money on those, but can't even included a repaint of a decent articulated figure with the vehicles? :-/

Yep. Need to have a toy collecting on the side of the road up there with a sign that says "I don't even want a real woman, just make it easier for me to get the toy ones!"

Hasbro could at least just back off on the case ratios. Instead of making the most desired figures 1 per case, do that with the females I guess. At least those of us that buy cases will be able to have a fighting chance.

Well, those are by and large awesome. Love Roadblocks ginsu vest, and Blind Master is supercool, even if he doesn't look like the comic version (though why does his mask have eyeholes?) definitely going to have to track down the SDCC Shovkwave now. I know that BAT homages an Action Master, but I can't remember which one. Getting even more excited for Retaliation.

...geeezus...did Hasbro stop doing Q&As because they knew they were going to alienate big portions of their fanbase?

Per Hawk, "Lady Jaye is not NYCC exclusive" according to Hasbro panel. She's in wave 3.
