Hey Marauder Task Force Team members!

Here is where we are in the process. The corrections appear to work and we pushed the factory, but were not able to get the corrected replacement MTF figures before the factory closed for the Chinese New Year celebration. We knew it was going to be a challenge to get the corrections made and then have all the corrected items produced in so short a time, but we gave it our best. Currently we're working to get the entire complete new production run shipped at the same time and as quick as possible. If we only receive a partial shipment, we will ship the Kickstarter rewards FIRST and then LATER make the rest of the items available on the website when they arrive.

Again, apologize for the delay, deeply appreciate your patience and will keep you all updated.

MJ

It's over now, there was an update from MJ stating the factory is reopening this week and they are meeting to make sure the issues that caused the delays are taken care of, and then get shipping info. I don't have the means right now to post the email, but I'm sure some nice person will do it eventually.

Hey Marauder Task Force Team Members!

After being closed a month for the Chinese New Year celebration, our factory finally reopens this week. We have meetings planned to get an update on the replacement figures. First priority is to be sure ALL the modifications solve the original issues and that the corrections do not result in "new" unforeseen issues on the replacement figures. Next step is to then get updated shipping info.

Over the last month, while the factory was closed, we didn't have access to any new information or access to the production engineers. We chose to stay quiet until we actually had something to share.

Again, as we have done throughout the entire project, as we get info..you'll get the info.

Thanks again for your support!

MJ

Project Update #52: Marauder Task Force Gaming Figures by Marauder GR

Marauder Task Force Project Update 3/23/15

For backers only
Dear Marauder Task Force Supporters,

First off, THANK YOU for your patience as we work on getting the Marauder Task Force action figures ready for you. It has been a very difficult and challenging process. This last weekend, we had a meeting with the factory and received an update on the status of the project after the Chinese New Year break.

The good news is that the original “frozen” joint issues were corrected. The bad news is that the updated materials resulted in new issues. During the meeting we identified and found solutions to ALL the new issues. BEFORE we give the go ahead on the updated replacement figures, we need some slight tool revisions and require a very large sample of the updated figures to ensure that they are free of any quality issues. The tool modifications should only take a couple weeks, but the new delay resulted in us losing our production appointment and the factory is booked with new projects.

Our Boss Fight Studio friends, who are using the same factory for their Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. figures, have spearheaded resolving the issues with the factory. Their support has been invaluable through this ordeal. The delays in the Marauder Task Force product have also resulted in delays on their figures, which cannot begin production until the corrected Marauder figures have been produced. The Boss Fight crew have proven to be true professionals going above & beyond to help out their client on this project.

This unexpected production delay actually has an upside. The Boss Fight Studio design team will be AT the factory during the replacement figure production since the new production timeframe coincides with their previously scheduled factory visit!

What does all this mean to our loyal MTF supporters? With the corrections in place, the revised production time table and the additional support from our friends, our updated release window is early summer. We will only ship figures if they meet our expectations.

Again, thank you for your support through this process. While these delays have been frustrating, the troubleshooting on this line should make all future projects that much smoother. We have several new 1:18 scale figure projects in the works that we can’t wait to show you once you have the first round of figures in hand.
Marauder Task Force figures will be on display at the Boss Fight Studio Joecon booth and Justin at generalsjoes.com is working on a review of the MTF figures and accessories. While the MTF figures at the con and those getting reviewed are NOT the final updated production figures, you will still be able to get an idea of what is on the way!
Again, thank you for your support!

Sincerely,
MJ and the entire Marauder GR Team

Honestly, if you believe the company line that Hasbro and others give about production timelines, even with the delays Marauder isn't that far off from a full blown "retail" lines production time. This was funded on April 30, 2014. That's less than a year ago. We've been told to get a retail figure line from design to shelves can take anywhere from a year to 18 months to as long as 2 years.. So compared to the "big guys" Marauder is doing just fine. Granted they had originally wanted to get these out to people a lot sooner, but when you realize they are creating this line from the ground up, a 15 month delivery time isn't too shabby, especially for a "mom and pop" outfit like Marauder. And like MJ mentions in that update, once they get all the tweaks and QC issues out of the way the next project should come out a lot faster.

Yeah I'm bummed that these are taking so long. But I'd rather they take their time and do them right than send out a defective product, have it break and then have to go back, fix the problem and remake them.

Oh yeah, and I'm super stoked to get to see the figures at JoeCon and reading Justin's "in-hand" perspective on them as well.

When I saw on their website that they were going to be doing gear in addition to their ridiculously cool weapons, I was psyched. Now seeing how far along they are to making this a reality, I am absolutely pumped!

I am going to spend a good chunk of change buying their stuff. They've identified a real need within the hobby, one that I've seen since returning to collecting Joes within the last month. I'm sure that once Hasbro gets their machinery ramped back up again, it won't be as bad trying to start a collection from scratch, but I welcome the competition. It's more options for us, and more options = more great, diverse custom figures. Plus, Marauder means that

I only wish I'd started collecting Joes again long before now. I'm having fun, and meeting lots of cool new people. :-D

Kickstarter Update 53
MTF Replacement Figure Update 5/7/15

Hey Marauder Task Force Team Members!
Production is currently underway at the factory on the Marauder Task Force "replacement" figures. It took time, but after SEVERAL updated production samples, we finally approved all the engineering and material changes for the figures. Our friends at Boss Fight Studio were actually at the factory dealing with their own project, and were kind enough to check in on the MTF production. Delighted to say that all their reports were very positive!

Here are images of the MTF figures during various stages of the production/assembly process (looks like the body part dump outside of a civil war surgery tent...but you get the idea):

We are still on target for an early summer ship. After the Kickstarter reward packages ship AND start to arrive at their destinations, THEN the remaining figures & accessories will go live on our website. Thanks again for your support and patience!

...And we use to think that "Gun-Running" was challenging!

Thanks again!

General's Joes review of the Marauder Task Force figures has landed.

I figured this deserved a thread of its own rather than it get lost in the Kickstarter thread.

Justin shows off these great figures in all their glorious detail. He's shown the true modular nature of the figures and accessories. I don't know why but it never occurred to me to mix and match the color parts between figures before now. His mock-up of a "Viper" style figure is jaw-dropping. And mixing the desert parts with the field ops camo figure looks amazing. The way the colors compliment each other is, for me, very unexpected. I can't wait to get mine in hand. Justin's review just poured gasoline my the little spark of excitement I had for these.

Mod edit: Merged this in with the existing thread for now. Once these start hitting everyone's mail boxes start a new one for everyone's thoughts and ideas for matching parts. - pluv

Have they set a price yet for each figure?

Really cool looking figures.
I'll build a small team once they hit the Marauder store.

Glad I'm not the only one that had not previously considered mixing color sets. When I saw the mixed pics it hit me how much it popped and I literally had an "why didn't I think of that" moment. My only gripe from his pics is that I was expecting the green shoulder armor to color match the armor vest. Not a huge deal.

I did not fully read the review or go through all the pics, I will reserve that for once mine come. Trying to limit my "spoilers" so to speak and want to try my own combos before cloning Justin's.

<edit: disregard my perceived gripe. Just realized after being tempted for a third look that there are two different green armor sets. Thus gripe unfounded. The mixing color sets got me again.>
