Yesterday, I was truly bummed out by this. Now? its a sadistic comedy. Just think of all that is affected by this - the toymaker, licencees, the studio, theaters, etc. I don't know how the contracts are written, but I'm sure several lawyers are going to be having some fun with this.

Can anyone this of anything like this? Where a movie, with all the associated sales, has its release data moved so close to the original date?

In some ways, this reminds me of 21st Century and every time they tried to do a movie tie-in - Sky Captain (where the P40 was delayed) and Sahara (where we only got figures a year later and didn't get the desert camo Huey and tank). But still, nothing like the money involved here.

Yeah, I see WAY too much of this on Joe boards. Mysterious source cited ONCE becomes fact. I need something other than "mysterious internet leprachaun in my pants says, I am the lizard king!"

I believe I've found the source for what the word really is.

I seem more willing to stick to my "Brian Goldner wants this line totally dead and this is happening because he wants it to" theory. Or the people at Hasbro in charge of this mess are really just incompetent, either one is quite possible. I have to doubt this was solely Paramount's decision.

Nobody in business wants to end a money making product. The thought process of your statement over and over blows my mind. I have no idea who Goldner is but anybody in any business wants the most successful product possible.

For example, if I made golden widgets but personally hated the color gold it wouldn't matter because golden widgets pay the bills.

CEO of Hasbro
Hasbro better not be paying any license crap to Paramount for the movie figures any more.
My Walmart has set up the space for the toys. I didn't bother to ask if they had them.

I had Target pull product from the back, I was told, resets are not until next week, which is the only reason why they aren't out at Target.
Got the same thing from a Dept Manager at Walmart, planogram changes aren't scheduled to next week. The time varies from location to location, but if you don't have stuff out now, you will next week.

Also, no ones pulling product out, and shipping it back to Hasbro... if they did, it would be an industry first for a new line.

“G.I. Joe is an ongoing consumer franchise and therefore there is merchandise available to consumers. There is a limited amount of G.I. What we see is what we get then.
No recalls, but no resupply either.

They don't say much though. Will they go through their stock of the first wave or are they hoping that store might want to resupply with the same figures in 9 months?

So after reading AICN, and a couple other websites dealing with this, it looks like I was pressing the right buttons,
Looks like the movie was getting bad reviews from the early screenings. They want to re-shoot a majority of the movie, and they want
Tatum back.

I hate being right sometimes.

So, not Hasbro's decision at all?

Who would have guessed that?!

I'm not surprised they want Tatum back. He's gaining steam as an actor, and they probably want the option to include him to draw more money.
