Ok, after finding the whole wave, I have to say that yes, I am pretty much disappointed in all of them. Not hugely disappointed, but this is probably my least favorite wave thus far.
Duke - meh - like I need any jetpacks (never been a fan, really.)
Snake Eyes -- would be perfect if he was taller - as-is, he's not the dream custom base figure I'd hoped he'd be.
Viper - the only thing good about him is the torso & upper arms for customs. Not worth $7-8 a pop for fodder, though.
Spirit - used his legs & forearms for a Spirit custom - no need to buy any more.
Wild Bill -- too many mods required to make him look presentable - pea head, crappy proportions, "LASER BLAST" holsters, etc. --Too bad his head is so damn small - it'd make one hell of a Jim Gordon custom....
HISS driver -- surprisingly, the only one for which I have no complaints. But I never really cared for the character or wanted the figure anyway. But he fits well enough into the DTC HISS (my preferred model), so I might get a couple more just to round out the Cobra motor pool.
But honestly, I just cancelled all my BBTS pre-orders for this wave (had a couple of cases and a mess of individual SEs & others on order.) -- And those that have seen my customs know that I like to stock up on fodder - not this time around, however.
So I'll save some $$$ for the next couple of months until the next wave, anyway
And I don't want this to seem like I'm Hasbro-bashing in the least -- they've done a great job getting these things out to us. But I have this thing where I customize every single Joe I get my hands on (Cobra not so much), so I base a lot of my opinion on potential for custom fodder rather than finished product. Seeing wave 9(? - the Hawk/Bazooka wave) up close & personal at the Canadian 'Con proves that Hasbro can make a perfect wave. This one just wasn't it. No real complaints -- I'm just waiting a wave or two until I go nuts buying multiples again.
