If it does it does and if it don't then it don't, but what would be cool is if they gave us some more, there is more figs to put out, if they wanted to and i for one would love to have that Tank from the Last Crusade, the one that went over the cliff.

I think u need to look back at where I said WWII vehicles - I did not say figures - And I said international figures (i.e. little ghandi looking figures in robes, etc) . There have been very few WWII vehicles available in the $10 - $20 range over the past decade.

I apparently misread your post then. I took it to mean WWII vehicles (any type) and figures.

You are correct in that there haven't been many $10-20 vehicles produced. But the companies seem to have a huge market for expensive aircraft, so why bother with ground stuff now. 21st's Kubelwagen and Jeep (long gone), and FOV's Sherman and Tiger tanks are all I can think of. 21st's halftracks used to be $20 or so but now they have jumped to $30. Even their Pak-40, which is small, is $30 at TRU.

The problem I see, is that many of the folks who collect the true WWII stuff, are very exacting in what they want. And they are willing to pay a premium for it - thus the lack of $10-20 vehicles. The cargo truck is nice, but its not accurate cause the bumper is wrong and the hood ornament isn't Mercedes - thats the stuff I've read on other boards. Stuff that I could care less about makes them cringe. I don't see them buying a Hasbro WWII/Indy line longterm unless the details are less "toylike"

you're clearly better versed in those military lines than I am. I was basing my thoughts on the fact that the stores have had plenty of "vintage" military soldiers lately - but few vehicles - except for the uber expensive planes and helicopters u described.

KILL IT WITH FIRE.

A) WTF is up with his name being 'Mutt'? We know 'Indiana' was their dog's name, but 'Mutt' is kinda already taken. Speaking of which, will this fig being on the shelves pretty much guarantee that Mutt & Junkyard can't be done due to confusion issues? Have we ever learned what kind of dog Indiana was? I'm betting German Shepherd or the like. Also, I'm guessing Marion got some poor schmuck to raise Mutt as his own since he doesn't have either Indy or Marion's last name?

B) Is that Col Dietrich in the Kohler commercial where the chick tells him to design a house around the water faucet?

a) Pretty sure it was a German Shepherd, assuming it's the same dog that was shown in Last Crusade. Or am I just imagining that because it's been many years since I've seen the film?

b) Yep, it is.

Is there a Marcus Brody figure?

If not, why?

If we are looking at a new trilogy, then they're probably going to be pushing a toyline for the next several years. It has a nice crossover potential into the Joe market with all the military hardware. I certainly wouldn't object!

I believe you're correct on your assessment about the WWII collectors not really supporting the line. Some will, because not completely accurate support vehicles are better than no support vehicles at all. Most support vehicles would fall in the 20-25 range, if they were being made. The .50 cal quad comes to mind. What's the point if there isn't a vehicle to tow it?

We're not gonna see 10-20 dollar vehicles because the makers don't think there is a market for them. There are also the price increases. 21st is gonna struggle to get a C-note for a retread Panther and King Tiger tank. Guess they shouldn't have screwed up the Wally World deal.

Oh God, please no.

I was thinking that was where they were going with having him in the movie until I heard his name. I can't exactly see "Mutt Williams and The Spear of Destiny" or something to that idea working. Had they picked a better name, maybe.

I'm pretty much like everyone else. I figure it'll go to about Christmas. Maybe there will be a surge at Christmas selling figures too, but that'll be about it. Indiana Jones has a big fan base, but not like Star Wars. Plus I don't think kids latch onto it like they do Star Wars. So it'll be a get what you want to get now as far as the figures go I think.

I think the line has enough to keep going for a year maybe (enough to cover most of the incedental characters I think). I do believ the rush to put these out is fueled by the thought they might not last.

A few things though: Any word on the Temple of Doom, I haven't seen any info on it.

Is the Last Crusade figures supposed to be out now, I have only seen the Greman soldier with the bike, an excellent figure. But I really want the grail knight and Henry Jones in that set.

Last Crusade figures are due sometime in early June with Temple Of Dom following sometime in July. There looks like there will be at least a month between waves, which is a good thing wallet-wise :)

The Indy line is really nice but I've got to also wonder just how long they keep the line going. Star Wars can keep going because those fans will buy any character that had 2 seconds of screen time or don't mind having to buy Darth Vader for the 18th time because of some change to the figure. Just can't see them keeping up the same thing for Dr. Jones.

I think you need to check out Forces of Valor and 21st Century's offerings. Lots of WWII items that are much more accurate than the stuff made for Indy. BBI Elite Force are still around, and Dragon also made WWII figures a few years back.

While the World War II collectors might not be all over the Indiana Jones line for being Hollywood and not totally researched to death I can see Indiana Jones being a bit of a boost for other companies with collectors and maybe even some kids thinking they could add a few more Nazis for Indiana Jones to beat up.

Hey might even encourage some company to expand out into the Cold War Soviets so I could add a bit more to my Oktober Guard.

I honestly don't see it going more than 2-3 waves after what's been announced. It's not like the characters are extremely visually interesting, and other than Indy himself, most aren't very recognizable. As long as we get Toht, I'm pretty much fine with the line as it's been announced. Obviously more vehicles and playsets would be cool for fodder and such, but I doubt they'll happen.
