Right -- and you think it'll be an improvement? Or that we'll ever see anything as cool as the Real American Hero and the original figures?
I hear "reimagining" and all I think is, "Well, that's one more pop culture concept that'll be dead in the water to me."
Need I remind you of Sgt. Savage? Or G.I. Joe Extreme?
If we're really lucky, they'll at least let Larry Hama continue to do his RAH comic.
While i don't have much hope that it will equal or surpass ARAH ( which was amazing) i'd rather something be tried than nothing at all.
In fact.....i wouldnt mind ARAH simply being updated to reflect the modern times i.e. cell phones instead of rotaries / lan lines , green shirts with modern infantry designs, etc. . And before anyone says it NO that is not what the movies were.
I mean the same ARAH characters tweeked
ever so slightly to reflect the current times (not given accelerator armor *which i liked btw* but not as something that belonged in GI Joe).
Personally i liked a fair amount of the IDW joe comic not written by Hama (especially the run where chuckles went undercover in Cobra). Most of the 80's ARAH designs look goofy if you weren't a fan of the toys as a child but the core of the story remains solid and timeless. ARAH needs a new skin not a heart transplant.
