a) do I need it?
(of course I want it)

b) if so, as a sub?

c) or modded into Rocket Ship Ajax (more to scale than doing so to that yellow sub from the Animal Planet line)?

I have just seen it, if I had the extra money I would have grabbed that thing in a heartbeat. Very, very awesome (tru was the store)

They had some other awesome looking new vehicles (my phone is now broke so I couldn't take a pic) there is a 3 wheeled bike where the driver lies on his belly to drive it (kinda got a batman tumbler feel to it, but its kinda a triangle shape)

Then a heavily armored jeep/Humvee type vehicle. Guns galore.

I do not like the Chap Mei stuff: too much kiddish, poor materials, terrific colors, off scale weapons, etc., etc.
But as I wrote before, their AC 130'd be a perfect G.I.JOE Marvel Comics C 130 because Hasbro never did a transport plane.
Their Submarine is an excellent "big" submarine for Joes, Cobra, M.A.R.S. or Oktober Guard. Hasbro produced only few little submarines in 32 years!
And I bet my Flagg that in the next few years Chap Mei'll produce a transport chopper like the Cobra ones (Marvel Comics)!

I gotta have that choppa!! Where was that available?!?

Picked up the Sub on Sunday. Felt like a kid carrying that thing around. Super cool!! Can definitely see G.I.Joe using that thing; a smaller, spec-ops type sub. Really looking forward to seeing peoples custom jobs on this thing. Can already picture one in Cobra blue, Barracuda colors, flat black, etc.
And again, what's a parent gonna buy for $39.99? Awesome submarine, or the Joe vehicle 2-pack?

Saw them at another TRU today, so they are out there. Also saw new True Legends Knights and Dragons sets. Very weak, IMHO.

Picked up the sub and I'm quite pleased! Chap Mei really has a knack for filling the holes that other companies have missed over the years - a large transport plane, EOD/bomb disposal guy, and now this great sub, etc.

The kids loved it immediately. The fact the propeller spins as the vehicle rolls is actually a play feature that makes me (and the kids) smile every time.

It's pretty great out of the box for a Joe/Cobra sub, and with a little custom work has even more potential. Sure it's got its wonkiness (like who needs a door hinged on the bottom of a sub to open, flooding the whole thing?), but I've already got many plans for it. For example as a delivery platform for a team of Eels and their night landing craft. The little dart/torpedo launchers on the side are removable enough to also kinda work for SDVs (underwater vehicles) for the Eels. And the dart storage area totally has a sub-launching-salvo-of-ballistic-missiles-vibe to it.
