Uh, those are Black Out's colors, daniel. How else would you expect them to color him?
I didn't think he was disappointed in the color scheme so much as the parts selection, and I totally get that reaction.
With the exception of the accessories, which are quite cool, this is a figure just about any fan whose been collecting recently or who has an eBay account could go and make themselves with very little difficulty. They wouldn't even have to paint anything (they could use a metallic sharpie to get the same effect on the armor bits and boots).
I'm not saying a figure has to be difficult to customize to be visually appealing, and I'm not even saying this is a bad looking figure. But there were two ways the Club could've gone with this -- quick and easy, low impact Frankenfigure or something more imaginative and visionary. They've shown they can do both.
For what this was supposed to be -- this super premium reward for folks who paid a lot of money for the FSS -- it's a pretty big comedown.
Also, have to disagree pretty ardently with Trekker about it being an improvement on the original design. Go back and look at new-sculpt Blackout. Sure, it suffered from the proportion issues that plagued the entire line at the time, but the sculpt was very detailed and unique. It was one of the more visually interesting designs to come along in a long time.
It just seems ironic to me that the only element of that design this version preserved was one of the doofiest looking head sculpts in the history of Joe.
