I like the colors on the ARAH Duke. Just need to swap out the arms for lower sleeves...

Same half assed crap parts that plagued the comic packs. If they had done them right, as they did with Snow Job, it would have been awesome. But those [LASER BLAST] were nothing new at all.

Yeah, Storm Shadow's painted bare upper arms from the CP figure was pretty dumb. And with Storm Shadow and Snake-Eyes, not having their classic gear would've been very lame.

But I can't hate that Destro. He's got the great Comic Pack head, but his body is painted so much more cleanly! Hell, it's even the first use of that mold that ever got its wrist thingie painted!

I in fact do hate that Destro. Clean paint apps be damned, it's still the suck.

might have worked better to split the type of question out regarding opinion of the figure and how easy it was (or wasn't) to find at retail. some will see repaints & re-releases anyway.

I'm confused by the survey.

Why is the opinion on the figure directly related to its availability? Croc Master and Crazylegs were very hard to find (their wave never hit retail in my area) but the figures are, IMO, nothing to write home about.

I don't think he's interested in which good figures were easy to find, because people likely own those. Want to know which good figures people couldn't find and might want to see re-released. The re-released is the more important aspect.

Exactly.

Will this make any impact on Hasbro rereleasing any of them? No.

I think this is something that has been bugging me about Hasbro, for a toy company that sells toys, they have a vocal fan-base that is currently unable to buy anything. I always hear the argument that we aren't their target demographic, but at the end of the day, if they can sell a handful of product, it's still money that can be made. If Wal-Mart or Target doesn't want to stock an interim assortment, why can't Hasbro fire-up the presses and stock the website with Low-Light, Snow Job, 30th Lifeline, Renegades Storm Shadow, and ultimate commando Snake-Eyes? Hasbro should have a good idea of what figs we're fiending for and just load up the site on army builders like BAT's, Shock Troopers, Vipers. How outside of the box are they really thinking? Most companies are able to sell directly to the customer via the web these days. Apple products are sold to major retailers and purchased directly. Same goes for Sony products or Nike. It's not a new concept. Just make a small amount to test the waters and get some trending data. We're 10 years past the DTC experiment and Hasbro should have a better idea on how to do this. If not, there's a bunch of tech companies they could leverage, like SalesForce or something.

I lurk HISSTank everyday and it seems like people are begging to part with their money for figs and Hasbro can't seem motivated to take it from them. I'd rather make a small amount to profit than no profit at all. Anyone notice how much modern figs are going for recently on eBay? It can't be a coincidence that people are paying more because there's no product to be had at the retail level, right?

You know what would be cool to see? For Hasbro to take popular versions of some of the characters in Retaliation that had figures in PoC/30th/Renegades and release them in a special case assortment in Retaliation packaging. Imagine a case with v54 Snake Eyes, Renegades Storm shadow, Cobra Shock Trooper. Maybe throw in a few new redecos for characters who didn't get releases then like Ret Roadblock as RAH Roadblock with maybe Resolute's head. They could also include those versions of Flint and Lady Jaye from the concept case too. Maybe make them exclusives to Target or Wal-Mart or something

The production process unfortunately doesn't work that way. They can't just call up the factory and say "Start making more of XYZ figures" whenever they want and start shipping them to stores the next week. At the time the decision was made to push the movie back, the factories were already cranking out Retaliation product and other things. By the time Hasbro would have been able to coordinate with retailers, schedule the runs at the factory and then have the product shipped from overseas, it would be too late. There just wasn't enough time to put something else together in time for the holidays. If they could have, they would have. They also can't just make HTS carry something if it has no interest in it. Have you looked at the Joe selection on HTS anytime in the past year? They were very rarely selling figures as singles. Mostly they were selling complete cases or sets. HTS is no different than any other online retailer when it comes to operation. They just happen to exclusively carry Hasbro products.

This.

kHAos, I get what your saying, I would also have loved to get some stuff during this hiatus. But if you're Hasbro, you have to mold the parts, paint them, assemble them, mold the blisters, print the cards, ship them to North America, distribute them. All this take several months. By the time they hit the marketplace, it would be time to switch back over to Ret stuff. Also, all those production ressources have now been allocated to other lines. So do you stop making high selling Star Wars or Transformers or Marvel to retool production to make mediocre selling Joes?

What I don't get is why Hasbro doesn't use HasbroToyShop to sell product 1) we know they made 2) we know Walmart will not sell 3) we know is sitting in a warehouse and 4) we know will eventually be sold at discount to Marshalls, etc. but only after a year or two of 1, 2, and 3. Do they like wasting money and warehouse space? Neverminding the "firing up the presses," I think kHAoS has a point.

All I know is, if you guys want to see G.I. Joe again at retail AFTER the movie has come and gone, those Retaliation toys are going to have to sell out.

That includes all the Dukes, StormShadows, Snake Eyes and Roadblocks.

If you wait until they go on clearance, the stores aren't going to order more.

Well I certainly plan on doing my part by not skipping any Storm Shadow figures made available. ;)

I'm in for every f---ing Storm Shadow they make too. It's a weakness.

NO MORE COBRA COMMANDERS. At all. I'll avoid multipacks he's in just so I don't wind up with anymore of them.
