It seems like everything regarding the club is under the microscope more than anything else G.I.Joe. I think if they had not been transparent about the $3 fee, someone at some point would have thought about it and complained that the transaction fee was built into the FSS cost....and that they should not have to pay that beyond the first set they ordered.

There is a bit of damned-if-they-do, damned-if-they-don't right there.

I already ordered one set. I will gladly admit that it isn't cheap. But at the same time, I would be happy if this outlet for figures is allowed to grow. The story element of the yearly con set is somewhat constrictive to characters that need to be made but don't fit in a specific story. The higher cost is imo the price we pay to have or cake and eat it too.

I think if this FSS is a success, it will be outdone by future FSS figures.

You know, I didn't get a confirmation email on those. Were they not suppose to have that or is this another error on their part? I do see where the charge is pending on my card however.

BBTS has individual figures on pre order.
Some figures are $34.99 while some of the coolest ones are $44.99.

I really hate how even though the FSS is live now, they're still keeping the 13th figure top secret.

This is very true that they are under a microscope but their own actions put them there. They just didn't have a single failure, it is a long history of repeated failures, missteps, and screw ups. Many people, including myself, have simply come to expect them to do it again. And if we the consumers simply start accepting these screw ups, the club will never try to improve. They have to keep being reminded of these things. If I had made mistakes like they have of their severity and frequency in my own job, I would have been fired by now. And this isn't just the GIJoe side. The Transformers club members will tell you of problems, some unique to their club, some shared with us.

I truly do not understand why the club continues to operate with these surprises that they do. Since they are very much a business and not really a club where it's members can participate in their activities, they should be revealing the product they are trying to sell.

You KNOW they are going to try and keep that 13th damn figure a secret until he starts showing up in people's mailboxes.

Worst possible scenario is that it will be Kwinn, so start preparing yourselves now.

I know.
Anyone with any common sense would realize that the FSS service going live is the perfect time to reveal the final figure, as an extra incentive to get people to sign up.
But the way things are going I expect no one will know who it is until it shows up in their mailboxes along with the other two SURPRISE YOU WON'T KNOW WHO IT IS TILL YOU GET IT figures.

Lance Sputnik wrote:

That just emphasizes the boneheadedness of the secrecy. Kwinn would be the ultimate incentive for indecisive signer-uppers.

It won't be Kwinn.

It'll be Bombstrike.

Even with Kwinn as one of the figures, I just couldn't justify that much per figure to myself. The retail cost of figures in stores has already priced me out of the collectors market, not to mention the insane scalper prices from online stores and Ebay sellers for desirable figures.

Anyone any idea how much extra a non-USA foreign sub would cost? Just curious.

I wonder how many will sell and if there is even a way to get an idea. I was invoice 1400 something. Being a new system, if that includes the Footloose orders and others when they went live... but if this is just these and that's an indication of how many... I don't know.

I do agree that revealing the last figure could be a big incentive to boost sales. Assuming that figure is something that would be what people want instead of another vanity figure like Sure Fire. With the club's history, NOT showing it makes people feel like that will be the case and actually could cost them potential sign ups.

What would be worse if they said........."IF you reveal what figure was received online somewhere you will NOT be getting ANY more and WILL NOT be getting refunded the rest of money you've paid in advance"

I wouldn't put it past them, but that would be illegal actually. Sure it's their game and they can roll out the ball pit all they want, set up the silly putty, and whatever kiddie thing, but I don't think the law allows them to take people/s money without product. Even if they made that claim. They can do the processing fee, restocking fee, or any of that and get away with it, but I don't think the law allows people to go that far. If it does, we really have a screwed up system.
