Sweet pics. You went a little comic heavy on the reviews, and less about the figures, though. :(

Yeah, could have something to do with them being comic figures ;-)

Also, I don't see how the FF is Marvel's Flagship Title. I could see that argument back in the 80's, but now? I dunno.

They always will be the flagship title, they were the first Marvel super-hero team, they debuted with Spidey, Spidey even had them as guest stars in his second issue. They will always be first no matter how popular or unpopular they are. Just the facts of the matter.

First, doesn't mean anything. After perusing the Internet, I found more people who felt like Spider-Man or The Avengers were more Flagship worthy. Even then, those were just opinions.

As far as comic figures meaning more of a comic review is concerned, I was only pointing out that this is the first time you delved more deeply into comic talk, than the figures themselves. That's all. :)

First is everything to a flagship title, it's the very definition. Without FF there is no Avengers, Defenders, X-Men, ect.

Just like Superman is the Flagship for all superheroes, without him no bats, no Green Lantern, no Spidey, no nothing.

FF has always been refered to as the Flagship title to all Marvel teams, if they had never made it nothing else would have came after.

Even though I own this set and have for some time, two things I hadn't noticed until I just read your review and looked closely at the pics:
1) Thrasher's face looks like a former boss of mine, and his personality is about what you would expect Thrasher's to be, if he were legit instead of a thug.

2) Zanzibar's head sculpt looks a lot like Dewey Crowe from 'Justified':

I thought it was supposed to be Rochefort from the Three Muskateers as portrayed by Michael Wincott - http://www.michaelwincott.org/Rochefort.htm

His best role, I might add. I cast him for a certain part in a story based on that movie.

Not near as flattering as the Dreadnok review, but here is the BBTS exclusive Slaugher's Mauraders set.

I'm always happy to read your reviews. Congrats on getting Shan, especially actually finding her at retail. I never did see her, which is a problem with a good deal of the Star Wars and G.I. Joe figures I've wanted in the past three years. I've been way luckier with Joes, though that still isn't saying much.

Tell me about it, I only this year got Bespin Han which has been out for nearly 2 years now, first time I ever saw it at retail. The distro issues are horrid with SW, Joe as well but Joe seems lucky in comparison.

This is a look back at Toybiz's Superhero Showdown Line, I've split this one into 4 parts covering a the few I still own, good bad and ungly so enjoy this look back and an attempt to pull back some myths about this legendary line.

Part one deals with several comparisons to MU and the Fantastic Four. Enjoy

Shortest matchup ever - Magneto vs. Colossus.

And while I usually dont disagree with your reviews, that Magneto is pretty horrible. Why use such a huge buck, if they had the one for the surfer right there. Since the belt and cape are just tack on bits, they could have easily used that instead.

Is it just me, or do the shs figures look like the marvel zombies versions of the figures. A little grey paint and dremmel work, and you might have a way to reuse them.

I was jazzed about picking these guys up when they were released, but I regret every one that I bought now.

- R
