Letter writing and such doesn't really help. For people to say and actually do what they say is the better route. People say all the time they will not buy here, pay that price, support that. Then the very next day they are at that store with a shopping cart full of figures ready to buy them all.
That's what it will take for prices to not keep climbing. People just have to stop supporting these things they dislike. But only a hand full of people are willing to do that, and that small dip in sales isn't enough to show anything to these companies. Just like with He-Man. So many people didn't want to buy a $20 figures and were saying they would not. No sooner than the first figure hit, they sold through stock. Again and again. Now they're $22 and people said they wouldn't pay that... but here we are with people paying.
But yeah, nothing will change until people change. Eventually they'll price stuff too far out of the average person's pocket money and something will happen, but who knows how long that will take. I'm pretty much buying online since it's impossible to find at stores and prices are not really much different now. In some points it's cheaper to actually just buy case packs.
I ended up getting some of the more recent figures (Airtight, Law, Sci-Fi, Zombie-Viper, etc) from Target for $8.99. I thought it I found them at Walmart I'd just take them back.
Walmart hasn't gotten any figures since before Christmas.
In the end, I got some great deals on ebay for the Scarlett, Tunnel Rat, and Ripcord. Got a few extras.
Realized later that I then averaged around $5.97 each for 2 figures. I took the three above $8.99 Renegades back and returned them.
