I don't need wrist swivel or ankle bend on every single figure.

I do, however, think that there should be some basic consistency when it comes to elbow, shoulder, knee, and hip motion.

If giving up ankle and wrist will still allow the others for all the other figures, then I'd gladly give that up.

Says the guy who has stated on a number of occasions that the Retaliation figures are crap.

Really?

I said that, specifically?

And if I did, I can't change my views and opinions or maybe even mellow a bit?

Not specifically, but certainly implied by the below...

Like all the good ones...

Of course you can soften your views, but when you just said this, I wonder what "softened" you? Actually, it doesn't matter. I'm not trying to change your mind about the toys, nor does it affect my enjoyment and excitement for them.

I however, do feel, and thus state implicitly, that most of the new figures are in fact crap, and I would not have been buying any of the vehicles anyway, as I feel unimpressed. My views have not, thus far, softened. But making customs is fun, it brings me pleasure.

That is all

I think the reduced articulation is unfortunate, but likely comes down to a number of equally unfortunate economic realities between Hasbro, the retailers, and moreover the economy in general, which is certainly outside of Hasbro's control.

I am impressed with the vehicles, and am looking forward to them. The figure situation -- it's nothing I can do anything about, so I'm not going to worry about it.

My greatest concern is that I sincerely hope that both the movie and the toy line are successes. Otherwise, we might not be facing a situation of "no figures with vehicles", but no figures OR vehicles -- PERIOD!

I don't think any of us want that to happen.

I agree with lance sputnik.

in all honesty, if we had a line of perfect figures I would be ok with paying 15 bucks for them. an example of "perfect" would be the snake eyes version 54. a solid range of articulation, with a good range of movement on the articulated parts. two heads and a lot of gear. Of course character specific gear would be required. I don't mind reusing fire arms but they need individual back packs and specialty gear. Post them up on HTS maybe 25 figures a year. Hasbro can feel free to re use parts. Just new heads, preferably all with removable head gear. Start with figures we don't see that often, or at all.

let me buy them without having to go to cons, or certain stores or any of that.

from there I wouldn't care what Hasbro did with the movie or any other line.

but if Joe leaves the store due to poor sales I am more than Ok with it. I don't dig the idea that I need to buy what is put out to "support the line". However I realize I am in the minority in this belief. So does Hasbro, and Mattel.

I don't have the cash or income to "support the line" by buying things I don't want. It seems like every few weeks now I have an unexpected expense and have to sell off yet more of my toys and other entertainment to cover them.

I wouldn't mind reduced articulation on drivers if it was some generic pilot you lodged into the seat and forgot about, but when it comes to something like the CC packed with the HISS Tank it has me worried that a great figure might not be so great(we have yet to see that figure from the chest down)

I dislike several and I'm still going to buy them so I can dislike them in person! ;)

Parents and kids likely wouldn't which is what matters to Hasbro.

HTS doesn't stock much as it is. What makes you think they'd want to do this? Hasbro can't just make them stock something anymore than they can Wal-Mart. If HTS doesn't want it, then they won't take it.

Obviously he's just saying what would work for HIM as a collector and consumer. We can all postulate on how we'd like it to be. Relax.

What's cool is that drivers aren't molded in the vehicles, so we can replace them with other figures.
For instance, the Cobra Commander that comes with the Hiss, I heard that Hasbro has made a few CC since the line started in the 80's so it might be easy to replace it. Same with Snake Eyes.

that kind of logic is not welcome in a thread of ranting complaints... what kind of forum do you think this is? Seriously what Redmao said is exactly why I don't care about the Kenner articulated drivers. I DO wish such a realistic and cool design for Clutch had the standard artic but alas I can just customize one with 30th Anv parts.

Yeah I'll probably make my own Clutch as well if the look is nice enough in person. Otherwise I'll stick to my 25th anniversary version and this guy will be a crash test dummy GIJoe sits in target practice HISS tanks. That's actually what I have had in mind is just use the blocks of wood figures to be like target dummies or something if I don't just stick them in a driver seat and leave them.

Uhh.... maybe there's something about this specific Cobra Commander that comes with the HISS that interests me? Maybe it's the unique tooling and look? Oh but I guess I can just shut up about that and stick my 84 CC in, they're really the same thing, by that logic.
