To my understanding, this is finally resolved.
What happened was I had imported my address book from my email into Facebook. I selected an option to send out an invite to each person in my address book that wasn't currently a subscriber. Something I had done when I initially set up the JoeArmory.com page a few years back. So this message went out to about 1,500 people two days ago.
Then, at 930am yesterday morning, FB experienced a glitch of some sort, and it began sending invites every hour on the hour. I don't think it sent it to all 1500 people, because I only got emails/messages/texts from 8 or 10 various people. Most understood it was an error, and most joked/teased with me about it. After about hour 6, I became kinda worried because it wasn't stopping.
With the help of some buddies, we were able to ascertain that it was not a hack (my concern since my Twitter account had been hacked last week), but were able to find evidence that it was a Facebook wide problem. Attempts to contact FB through various means hopefully are what resolved the issue, or it just stopped on its own.
Either way, it was an annoyance for many and I again apologize to anyone who was bombarded. Now let's get back to the real purpose of JoeCustoms: Making fun of CabanaJack.
