I like the look of these, but I don't know how many of them are true to the movie costumes.

The Rock looks Rocktacular. CC looks like the movie helmet at least. I'm glad to see at least bits of a dictator outfit about him. The cobra looks like something the early 90s coughed up. If Duke's costume is at all accurate, I think I prefer the x-men motorcycle armor. The Joe trooper is odd looking, but cool. The red ninja is just 30th Storm Shadow in red. Big surprise. Snake Eyes looks accurate to the trailer. Not sure how I feel about Storm Shadow. Cool outfit. Sculpt looks rough. Zartan looks Renegades inspired (and looks to use the Rex bondage torso).

There seems to be A LOT of missing wrist and ankle joints deminishing some of my excitement. But still, can't wait for Toy fair.

I love the Red Ninja. Since I haven't seen 30th Stormy yet, this guy could fill in in a pinch.
Snake Eyes looks cool, but I'll have to see more shots to see if he beats SE54.
StormShadow also looks like he has potential.
Roadblock is an excellent figure, and the head sculpt is great.

I'm not sure I'm digging the color choices on Duke, the greenshirt and the cobras.
They don't look movie accurate, but maybe we'll get those figures as we get closer to the release.

Honestly, I am not going to be getting this line just based on what I am seeing here. I was hoping they'd not be interesting as I am trying to save $$ and they aren't so yay me!

I do want some of those sci-fi weapons they are carrying, so remember, anyone that doesn't want the guns when you get the figures, i'll gladly take them! :)

I like what I see. I still get that "I want" tingley feeling when I see new stuff. If I don't have anything go wrong with me the rest of the year, I'll be looking through what I have and gut out my collection to keep the focus on what I still want. I do want this stuff.

Awesome stuff.
Repaint of the recent Storm Shadow for the red ninja is awesome.

Movie Storm Shadow looks pretty cool and so does movie Snake Eyes.

Zartan... meh

Duke looks very generic which might be useful.

CC looks awesome.
The same with the cobra troopers. Since I got multiples of the recent troopers, I might only get one and make him a captain like I did with the resolute Alley Viper.

Joe trooper, same thing, might get one and make a character out of the figure.

Roadblock rocks... pun intended.

The figures look like a mix of movie style and 30th anniversary., specially Duke. Maybe they're transition figures.

There's definitely been a switch to rocker ankles. Like Renegades Scarlett has. It's hard to tell from these images, but it does look like at least Roadblock only has single jointed knees, but that's been done before for larger characters (25th Roadblock, Bazooka. . . ) and I can't tell if everyone has wrist joints or not. Still, I'm very excited for pretty much all of these, even if I'm not sure how I'll be using them yet.

Nice surprise to come home to after work. Didn't realize pictures of the figures were coming out soon. CC and the Joe Trooper are my favorites. Excited about The Rock Roadblock. That SS looks waaayyy cooler than the one out now that everyone is peeing themselves over.

I'm pretty sure that is the Renegades Zartan design.

Yeah, these look pretty great. I'm on pins and needles waiting to get a few of those Joe troopers: that figure looks awesome, and I've got big plans for it. The Red Ninjas might find a home among my stuff as-is, and a few of the other figures have a nice look to them, as well. And, as usual, the rest will make excellent custom fodder, which is really what I want most from any toyline. So far so good on the movie toys; I'll be looking forward to some more pictures from Toy Fair.

Nice catch on the rocker ankles for Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. That's good to see. The other figures don't look like they have ankle joints.

Makes me think the Movie line is moving to a scenario where only ninjas will be fully articulated, as hinted at in this Q&A response (bold is mine, original here: http://joebattlelines.com/phpBB3/viewto ... 25#p169526).

2) Will the new wrist articulation be the standard from now on? It's tough to tell if the Renegades Trooper and Tunnel Rat have it?

2A. Renegades Trooper and Tunnel Rat do not have this articualtion, as they use some existing tooling. In answer to your question about making this standard, the answer is "no." Moving forward only specific figures will have this articulation. As a general rule, figures that need articulation will have it, ones who do not, will not.

That would jibe with the images we have here, and with the Avengers toys that have leaked so far. If that's the case, that is super lame.

I don't mind paying $7+ for a figure that is fully articulated. Especially if they have the flippy hand articulation. I can't see myself buying an inferior product at a higher price, though. Articulation is the reason these new toys are better than old toys, in my view. Remove it and I lose interest fast.

Also: These are very early prototypes, dating from before the molds were cut.

You can tell because there are screws missing (which is common with the early mold stuff) and by the roughness of the paint on some of them (they're hand-painted).

That said: I've never seen an early prototype gain articulation after the point that publicity shots were released. We hoped that 25th Roadblock would have double-jointed knees when those promo shots came out and he didn't.

You can see rocker ankles on the Joe trooper as well. There's some lines in that area that make me think Roadblock does too. Can't tell if they all have wrist joints or not. I'd love the swivel/hinge we've been getting, but I hope they all have at least a swivel.

Starting to think we might see 5 poa vehicle drivers this time around too. At least they still have ball jointed heads. That way even if the bodies suck I don't have to do a ton of work to use the heads. Really hope I'm wrong on that assumption though. We should know in a week or so though.

Perhaps some Cobra Troopers to use as mercs or Shadowloo troopers.

Now where is JINX? :jinx: :shifty:
