Unless the price is too obscene, I am probably in.

I still just don't see the purpose of this. If they are copying the He-Man line - that's a toy with no presence in brick-n-mortar stores. Yeah, Joes don't have the same visibility on the toy aisle, but they are still there. If they are trying to make something for the collector, why not go with some sort or storyline or theme to pull it together? Instead, this just seems like some random cluster of figures that fans have asked for here and there. And, my biggest gripe on subscriptions - its up to me to dump the "crap" of the line. Sorry, if I don't like all the figures, I'm not going to deal with getting rid of that many, especially not at that price.

Nope. Not enough figures I'm interested in to warrant the sub. Had they included the club Footloose, a new Fast-Draw, Psyche-Out, Bull Horn or Night-Viper, then I'd be the first to sign up. Just not feeling these. Times and money are tough these days. $260 (estimated) bucks buys a lot more groceries and gas than figures I never really wanted. Count me a "No-Go."

Jinx and Big Boa are cool. But considering the resources, I can make customs for less than $20 a pop.

I suspect completionists will be kicking themselves in the very near future for not grabbing them when they came out.

5 years from now when this line inevitably ends, people will be killing for these limited figures.

This is exactly my feeling. Which is (partly) why I will get at least two subscriptions. If nothing else, the few that I am really worried about I can have a carded version and an open version. But I think I'll end up being able to sell off a portion of these, and pay for my entire subscription.

And, if nothing else, the bonus 13th figure is going to make up for it, since it won't be able to be purchased individually, plus some of the subscribers will invariably end up messing up there payments and losing out on it as well. My bonus 13th figure Night Force Falcon might just cover the whole subscription nearly by himself!

I was thinking about the math on this today. While some figures may sting at the high estimate of $25, I don't think Big Boa will sting at all. As a matter of fact, I think he and a few others are sure-thing bets to take for anyone planning to break up a set to sell some. I think he will sell out at the club store, if he is available at all after quantities for subscribers are set aside.

That got me to thinking....what is the conservative dollar amount the set will sell for if you break it up and go individually? To me, this estimate would gauge how much of a risk it is to buy the whole thing if you are one of the guys saying that just a few won't warrant buying the whole thing. Many collectors have been breaking apart con sets for years. I can't recall many figures starting at less than $15 each when the set is broken apart. Even the 25th Crimson Vipers from 2009 are $20-$30 right now when sold on eBay.

But imagine you got a sweet deal on any of them individually at a show or on eBay. What is rock bottom for these figures as I would bet we see across the next year?

Quarrel $50
Nano Bat $25
Topside $25
Dice $25
Iron Klaw $25
Jinx $50
Barrel Roll $15
Sure Fire $15
Tan Grunt $15
Cover Girl $50
Big Boa $75
TNT $25
13th $75

That is $470. And I would be quite surprised if the FSS, shipped, costs more than $330. There will probably be a few of the figures that do get overproduced. But I don't see many of these hitting the club's annual holiday sale. I think the overproduced ones will be offset by the ones that sell out.

So let's do the opposite...how much do I think these figures could go for when the set is broken apart?

Quarrel $100
Nano Bat $40
Topside $40
Dice $40
Iron Klaw $40
Jinx $100
Barrel Roll $30
Sure Fire $30
Tan Grunt $30
Cover Girl $100
Big Boa $200
TNT $50
13th $200

That is $970 compared to my high estimate of $330 for the set (or a low estimate of $270). Do I think it will go that high? No but I don't think any of my individual guesses are unreasonable. Keep in mind that it was hard to buy a Piper for a while for less than $350. He is different because he is a cross-sell with wrestling fans (but none of my estimates are anywhere near $350). But then look at Dial-Tone. These figures are primed and ready to be sold individually, which is far different than breaking up a con set.

I don't want to see the FSS fail. But I also don't want to see people wait to pick and choose and then have to decide which of the ~4 figures they originally wanted will make the financial cut if the club sells out fast.

I had originally planned on two subscriptions; one MOC, one loose. As of now, I'm leaning towards one & unless it's super cheap, that's what I'll stick with.

Nope. If I was a member, yeah, probably would do it. But I can't justify the price. It's just way, way too much to join and then the figures on top of it. I get nothing from being a club member, except for the "free" ($42) figure.

It all comes down to price. Right now, H's mainline offerings are superior. And the custom heads and torsos from Slayer and Broken Arrow among others are superior.
Cover Girl and Jinx are the only 2 I'd really want, but even they are Meh.

This is my real problem with the sub, outside of the price of the figures on their own. I would gladly pay an additional $10 or 5-10% of the total cost of a set to buy it without a $42 membership fee I don't really want.

No. While the figs look decent, and overall a pretty good use of parts, I just have no interest in them for the same reason all the anniversary lines have left me cold; I have no interest in buying rehashed versions of the same designs. I've had all these figures for 30 years now. Basically, I wouldn't even pay retail prices for these figures.

Big Boa did it for me. Even though I could take or leave the rest of them, I NEED Big Boa and I have a feeling he'll be way too expensive to get individually down the line. I'll risk it that hopefully some of the other ones will appreciate in value to make this a worthwhile deal. Although I think Surefire won't be worth spit.

I thought Dialtone was an awful figure...now he's selling for $200+

I'm not wowed by these figures...but there are a couple that are nice looking.... Hopefully the ones I don't want Double or more in value and will pay for the ones I keep.

I'm pretty much a lock for 1 subscription. Cost and Billing structure will determine if I go for a 2nd sub strictly to sell/trade.

I've heard that comparison to these along with Piper. Personally I think it is apples and oranges. Piper had a wrestling crowd wanting that figure. In Atlanta that figure there right up until the doors opened for general admission and then people bought them to get them signed by Piper. I remember seeing the signature lines and Piper's was like 100 or so and Hama's was like 5.

Dialtone was in the comics, in the cartoon, and came out in a popular year to most collecters. People who got him loose went and got him on card too.

It wouldn't surprise me for Footloose to be similar this year, but I have my doubts that Tan Grunt goes up in value. Jinx, Dice, and probably Iron Claw will probably be pretty expensive since this is the only way to get them until the club sells them through their store later on which they have suggested they might. Maybe you make money doing a quick flip, but I'm just not sold on the rest of the line up to be worth money over the long haul.
