Got 2 sets ordered from Smalljoes.com on these. I want an extra of the troop builders and probably Scarlett for some customs but I'll hold out for those IF the stupid stores will stock them.

EDIT: Well actually I take that back. What will be in the set I get are:

- Techno Viper (Cobra Engineer)
- Renegades Cobra Trooper (Infantry)
- Renegades Ripcord (Paratrooper)
- Renegades Tunnel Rat (Infiltrator)
- Renegades Scarlett (Undercover Agent)
- Storm Shadow (Renegades)

I'll still need extras and Wave 4. So I REALLY hope the stores will get these in stock. I guess SmallJoes might get those too. If so I'll just order from them so I don't have to hope for some slight chance a store around here gets the stuff and I happen to be in the right place at the right time since they never get a restock even if they do get the first stock. Plus with Christmas and people with kids just grabbing and buying anything and everything...

So considering Storm Shadow comes with a LOT of gear to make for that "change him from classic to Renegades" look..

I'm really worried Hasbro might try to pull a shortchange on his accessories and ruin that.

Very glad to see Sci-Fi on card. Been a little concerned about him. Also glad to see the Techno-Viper. Airtight is more impressive than I expected, since I'm not very impressed by anything Renegades-related.

No interest in the Cobra trooper. If I want more modern Cobra troopers, I'll buy more of the one in the current wave. Very cool figure.

That's because he's not Renegades, he's just been shoehorned in there along with Law because the character appeared in the show, in an attempt to "pad out" the Renegades assortment. Really him and Law are just standard 30th Anniversary stuff.

Yeah, because nothing says modern like those outdated suspenders that Trooper wears while only lugging around pistol and an old sniper rifle. :shifty:

I can tell you with certainty that a certain site sponsor (www.swjoes.com) will have them.

Well this is a cool wave. I'll have to spring for them. I wonder when HTS will have them, because I've got credit there.
I really hope they show up at retail, because $10+ a figure gets too expensive.
I'm bummed Scarlett's not coming with the city strike stuff.
I'm also getting Ripcord just so I can fix Cobra Island Ripcord.

I'm looking at that Airtight figure and I'm really liking the suit with the hood underneath.

I'm thinking they could reuse that mold and make a Para-Rescue/Parajumper or another character in that type of field.

Bookmarked as a backup idea. Thanks.

Yeah, that has got to be the worst Joe card art in the history of the line. And having a couple of awesome photrealistic cards (Sci-Fi and Techno) make the rest look even worse by contrast. They look just shameful.

Airtight: Wasn't going to get him, I am so tired of straight up copies of 30 year old designs, but I have to admit he looks pretty cool. So maybe....
Law and Order: He was my most anticipated fig, but now it looks like he has the Snake Eyes legs instead of his cool unique ones they originally showed him with. And does he no longer come with that cool masked head? Way to go Hasbro, turn a total win into a kinda meh figure.
Scarlett: SO bland, and she hardly comes with anything. Easiest pass of the bunch.
Tunnel Rat: Kinda bland, and not a single piece of new gear. Another one on the fence.
Sci Fi: Same case as with Airtight.
Ripcord: More blandness. May get him just for the head.
Cobra Trooper: Cool looking figure, but after Shock trooper, I'm just not all that impressed. And I HATE the stupid looking Renegades weapons. Back in the day, even when weapons were imaginary, they looked real-world plausible. These just look lazy.
Techno Viper: No thanks. He's been sitting on my shelf for 30 years now. Don't need another.

Total score:
Buy: 2
Maybe: 4
Pass: 2

Not exactly a home run, Hasbro. And you somehow managed to make the coolest one of the bunch (Law) less cool. I've said it before.... but after PoC, these are all pretty disappointing.

My GOODNESS!! That IS a hefty wave! I can find a home for all of those except Ripcord.

Well I need Renegades Ripcord to steal the helmet for 25th Ripcord. Then I will use him as updated Big Lob. ;-)

OMG Scarlett hardly comes with anything!!!

Good idea on both fronts for Ripcord, though I see fodder potential even beyond that.

Tunnel Rat will be bought by me just for the folded down overalls look.

Scarlett may not come with much else, but the figure looks to be as simple yet awesome of a female action figure buck as you could hope for, imho.

Really, really looking forward to these.

-Law: my most eagerly anticipated figure of the bunch. I really like the look of him as-is, and he'll make great custom fodder. Also, any time you can get a dog with body armor, that's pretty cool.
-Airtight: it's a great-looking figure. I wasn't crazy about the yellow uniform, but it looks good and I can find a use for him.
-Ripcord: he'll make a fine donor body for another figure. The head might be useful as well, depending on how cartoony they went with it (I'm hoping for more Duke and less Firefly here).
-Sci-Fi: I'll get one, but I'm not excited about him. Replicas of ARAH stuff aren't really my thing. They did a great job on him, though.
-Scarlett: again, not excited about her, but I'm sure I can find something to use such a blank-slate body for.
-Tunnel Rat: good custom fodder here. He won't last long on my work table.
-Techno-Viper: yawn. But, again, they did a fine job on him.
-Cobra Trooper: hate the design, love the parts as fodder. It might be the helmet that's throwing me off, though; he might look cooler with a substitute head that I'll be happy to find for him.

Horribly, horribly true. I've never wanted to get a figure off a card faster than I did the three Renegades Dukes I bought the other day. Usually, I like to leave the package lying around while I examine the figure, but I put those things in the trash as fast as I could. And you're right: looking through the pegs, those grotesque, detail-free drawings really brought down the appearance of the packages as a whole. I can actually see the ugliness of those cards adversely affecting sales of the figures, which is a shame because the figures themselves are really nice.

I need to pick up a couple of Law & Orders. The LO and Technoviper figures look really good.

Sci-Fi - Elite Combat Trooper? No more lasers?

Tunnel Rat - Infiltrator? of what?

Scarlett - Undercover Agent? undercover for whom? maybe Covert Operations would be better. or Counter-Intelligence, still being the best.
