Wow! I never realized that was a winged serpent on his arm. But now that I know, massive respect to whomever designed the character.

I long suspected that, being a Californian with a Spanish sounding name, Shipwreck was Mexican American. And the presence of a winged serpent on his arm pretty much clinches that.

Quetzalcoatl was an Aztec (and Mayan, I believe) dirty associated with the wind.

How appropriate would that tat be for a Mexican American sailor?

It's little character details like this that make me fall in love with Joe all over again.

Poseur? Didn't you say that you had worked aboard the Unicorn? Does that not count for any salt? :-)

By the way, as a fan of nautical things-- what a gorgeous vessel, and a true artifact.

I have to say though, that what all you had mentioned regarding the grace of certain nobility; how you must have tremendously understated that. In any capacity, that erudition and sheer import must have been profoundly impressive to consider. What an exclusive honor...

Anyway, you deserve the tat, Sir Beav.

I think you should get a dancing Shipwreck making sure his arm is out so you see the tattoo on HIS arm. You'd have a tattoo on a tattoo. Plus he could dance!

Now come on. You wouldn't want to look like this? It'd help make the purple shirt look... well it'd still look bad, but you'd have a full tattoo going on!

OK, the guy in the purple shirt has just become my favorite guy on this board. Sorry, Beav. :rotfl:
