The worst part is, a good chunk of that $8 has to be for the stupid spring-loaded weapons. What I'm worried about is that $8 is the *suggested* price...I'm sure many stores will have them up to $10 or more.

That actually follows the adverage of Hasbro priceing of late (SW and Marvels) so it fits perfectly. I am betting that will be the price.

While very true, that the prices keep with, current, standard Hasbro 3 3/4" pricing, it is still a little odd.
Since Hasbro is paying (pressumably heavy) licensing fees for the Star Wars and Marvel / Wolverine brands, one would assume that the GI Joe figures (a Hasbro owned brand) should (in theory) be cheaper.

The funny thing is that over the past couple of years now, GI Joe figures have gone from $4.99 to $7.99, where as Marvel 3 3/4" figures have remained the same price!

(The ToyBiz SHS / MLS figures were $7.99 and now the Hasbro Marvel Universe / Wolverine figures are the same price)

but i think there the standard buck is
it is just the figure
maybe a standard stand (never got them at retail) or 1,2 small acc.
So they don't have to worry about adding all sorts of unique crap to em like with joes.

You just address what I was hinting at. Since there was a massive increase in price of 25th Joes with no explaination what so ever, well....I think there are enough conclusions to go with.

using Joe subsidies for star wars/marvel shortcomings? oh, and indiana jones. those $1 clearance figures have to be made up for somehow :) my problem is, they're jacking the price up on these, and if they don't sell b/c of the price, they'll just write it off as them not being as successful as transformers or wolverine figures which aren't exactly first run movie franchises (wolverine in 3 earlier movies every other marvel book, and cartoon, and transformers being a sequel with a steadily running cartoon franchise).

if only there was a hasbro q&a to ask why the price increase.

Too bad they can't offer us the option of the figures for a few bucks cheaper without the spring loaded weapons that are just going to end up in the trash.

I'm just planning on getting all movie toys I want during the one week all stores have them on sale. Or, when HTS has a sale.

Isn't that kind of what they do with SW figures versus "Deluxe" SW figs?

That makes perfect sense at a time when oil is cheap

Except given how long it takes to make a figure, chances are it WASN'T cheap when it was purchased for production.

agreed, but will prices be reduced to reflect figures made now? I wonder if we'll see a time when action figures are all manufactured during the down cycle of oil prices.

Might slap some rotors on that Gunship and make a helo for Cobra.

Well, at least it's confirmed how diminutive the Raven is.

Wow. Snake Eyes doesn't look good in these pics. It sort of looks like the visor is removable. Is that a plot point or something? Oh well. Storm Shadow looks neat, and Duke does, too.

The vehicles are really underwhelming. I don't have any interest in these.

Here's hoping we get to see pics from the floor soon. I'm looking forward to seeing images of Hit and Run.

I'm surprised how slow photo uploads are this year. In the past it seemed that the sites were rabid to get photos up this year they seem to be "chillin". Great way to get your hit count up though, tell people the photos are coming soon and then don't post them for 5 hours...ah everyone's a businessman.

Hopefully everyone saying they don't like the vehicles won't buy them. Hehe, they'll clearance faster that way. I like them all myself and will get each one. I'll get more if they clearance.

The big missile guns that come with the figures are bad, but I know why they're in there. Time after time at KB, kids would ask for stuff and the parents would say "what does it do?". If it didn't have any feature, the parents wouldn't buy it. It didn't matter how much the kid liked it. But if they could at least say "It shoots a missile" then the parents will get it. It doesn't matter who becomes parents, if they forget their toys and what their parents did to them about buying or not buying, they repeat the same process over and over. But these guns can be thrown in the custom box.

The gunship is the only one I'm not 100% crazy about. It's too helicopter looking but doesn't have a blade. That makes it look really odd. I still like it though.
