Whew! If I saw that thing for $50, I'd have to pick it up on general principle. As it stands, it's just too gigantic to really justify picking up. I can't picture having enough uses for it. If it was in hand, I'm sure I'd come up with something tho!

I did cave on the Target Joe set. $38 is pretty reasonable :-D

got the BMF today for $34.98 at target! I didn't really want one, but at that price I couldn't pass it up!

Holy hell!

I got one this past weekend. I hadn't seen any BMFs for a while anywhere, but they had 2 at my Target when we went, and I thought about waiting it out, but ultimately decided to go for it. As we were leaving some homeboy in the parking lot saw what we got and asked if we got it for the thirty percent off, so I think he went and bought the last one. I'm glad I got mine, it's a hell of a cool toy. I just need to do some MAJOR reorgs to find a place for it

Yeah, I've heard the $35 price tag, too. Assuming you can find one at this point.

You know, I don't want to throw cold water on this, but one wonders -- if there are stores clearing this toy out for over 75% off, and likely less than it cost them to BUY them from Hasbro, does this toy have to be considered a failure as such? Did enough of them sell PROFITABLY?

The answer to that question will be known if Hasbro showcases another flagship vehicle for next year. With Toy Fair documentation already mentioning a Turbo Tank, you would have to infer that the market for these larger vehicles was at least large enough to justify their production and that new, large vehicles are being considered. A few hundred units that get clearanced won't really affect the retailers if they sold thousands of them at full price.

Plus, the Falcon was on the market for a good 6 months before these clearances. So, they weren't as susceptible to the clearance stigma as other toys that were only out for a month or so before the holiday was over. Plus, we all know this Falcon will reappear next year and the year after that as retailer exclusives, holiday incentives or just a general release to supplement the figures that are out at the time.

As much mileage as Hasbro got out of the original Falcon tooling, I would venture to guess that they expect to also be able to milk the BMF tooling just as much. We'll be seeing re-releases of the BMF for the next 30 years. Same for the AT-TE and many other SW vehicles.

Possible Turbo Tank this year? My oh my...I like the sound of that!

People would pass out if they released the Tantive IV or Grievous' Invisible Hand. Better yet a large scale Star Destroyer. Technically they could do this by releasing a Star Destroyer in parts. Make the front end with snap on parts so it could be a stand alone ship. The middle section could be an outpost or whatever. The back end could be some other structure. All the parts could then fit together and make the ship.

If they ever did a Star Destroyer that could be used with the 3-3/4" figures, I would find a way to own it. Ye gods, something like that could be larger than the Flagg!

I would love to see a Republic Attack Shuttle released, the LAAT always annoyed me because the doors didn't close all the way. I doubt we would though simply because the Gunship already fills that role.

I haven't seen a BMF at a Target since before Christmas except for one with a box beat to hell. Same with the AT-TE.

On Tuesday I was at a Target that had 8 BMFs at the 97.98 price. I went back today to see if they'd marked them down more, and they were all gone. Weird. I want one, but with my space limitations and money issues, I can't pay full price. Maybe I'll get lucky, but if I miss it, oh well.

Good thing I haven't seen one for that $30ish price or I'd be sleeping on the couch next to it. Seriously. It'd be totally worth it but that's a fate I'm glad I won't be suffering.

Looks like the big Star Wars toys weren't a failure...the Turbo Tank appears to be on docket for this year! :-D
