KC is a nice central location. However I'm surprised it isn't in Rhode Island since the TF one was there last year with a movie screening.
I hear KC has good barbeque.

I'll probably be attending this one as well.

As for a possible film viewing, KC is the home city of my employer, AMC Theatres, and supposedly has some really *SWEET!!!!!!!* theatres.

Wish they had info on a room rate. (edit - after messing around on the hotel website I found a room rate at $139/night plus fees)

I was looking forward to hosting a few fun tours and "Strip Club jaunts" in Rhode Island/ Boston. (Plus a trip to Fenway Park)

Oh well,....

Guess I'm flying to America's heartland (as setting aside a few hundred bucks for a Lanard warehouse jaunt.0

woo hoo, first time since 02' that I have a surplus of cash, and its only 7hrs away!
This year is a definate for me. I would say to start a caravan, but me thinks I will be lazy and take the 3 hour plane trip instead

A "no go" for me this year... nothing against the city, but it's a bad weekend "real world" wise and I've got something possibly happening that weekend that I need to be local for. :shifty:

A bummer, I was really looking forward to the move hype and sharing that weekend with some fellow Joe fans...

SG, Kansas City is in the middle of the country, farmland and such.

I'll be there for sure this year. That's my hometown and now I have a reason to go back and visit. Might just make it a long weekend and see the family too. If I can squeeze them in between panels :shifty:

Seriously, the Crown Hyatt is a kick-ass hotel. It is a ways from the airport (KC's airport is out in the middle of nowhere) but it's in a good location as far as restaurants and such.

I thought Lanard maintained that warehouse store only around Christmas (as witness by the massive shopping spree by one person on here...) ...?

Still, if it's a year-round thing, this is a Joe Convention that could make Lanard very happy. ;-)

I doubt I'm going. It's not so much the location, it's the $$$. I've got nothing against Kansas City. Heck, never even been there. And it strikes me as a good central location.

Now, the next big question is -- what's the CONVENTION SET going to be about? :shifty:

There's a thread over at JBL that had some "clues" from the club about the set. Current speculation is that it's Action Force themed with possibly the Red Shadows as the baddies.

As for Lanard, I'd be surprised if they didn't have a decent presence there this year what with it being in their backyard.
