I found the list quite amusing, but I'm finding discussion of it even funnier.

I have to say, I'd have paid good money to sit in on some of Destro's product pitches.

As for the Rattler, great design but seriously deficient execution. It's almost comically small, like it was built as an amusement park attraction or an army of oompa loompas.

I agree that Snow Cat doesn't really deserve the ripping, though. That and the hovercraft are two of my all-time faves.

How is it small? Sure, it's not to scale for an A-10, but a lot of Joe vehicles aren't to scale. At least it's not as bad as the Sonic Fighters Apache. :)

Speaking of the Snow Cat, I always thought it was a cool vehicle, but never got the concept of ski-mounted missiles.

You know, I don't think I realized until now just how many of these vehicles provided zip for protection to the guy driving it.

Oh wait, I forgot--only Cobra troops could fire thousands rounds and not hit a darn thing. So why would the Joes need protection?

Have to say, the Mean Dog write up kind of synced with something I've been thinking about that big gun for a long, long time...

The real gold there were the replies. Rabid fandom and Internet Kickboxing at its best.

For the vehicles, I'd agree on the Fang, or at least the numbers dead.

Afterall, the Fang and the Stargate wing fighter suffer from the same problem, falling pilots from inverted maneuvers. Only the fang shreds 'em.

It's based off a real design that, yes, actually flies. The real world helicopter is a heavy lift chopper. I used to have a picture way back when. Not sure if I still have it.

There's not a vehicle on that list that was released after 1988. The worst vehicles in the line (IMO) would all fall in the 1989-1994 range.

While the author may be a fan, I think he deliberately chose popular/well-known vehicles to stir up responses/controversy...and thus interest in (traffic to) his article. Because, I mean, come on...how many non-diehard Joe fans would recognize the Attack Cruiser, or the Desert Apache, or the Rat, or the Earthquake, or the Razor Blade? Not many. Diss a vehicle that most Joe fans love, tho, and get ready for the lashing.

Understood the humor, got some of the choices, just didn't find it funny.

It reminded me of a Adam Sandler movie: a handful of witty catch phrases surrounded by 80 minutes of less than humorous content.

Other than disliking the article on the style of writing he did make some necessary and humorous jabs at the toy art.

I will remember the rocket exhaust line :)

I didn't wanna be the jackass to hi jack the thread so as a suggestion lets start our own list of silly vehicles and why!

I like MobileBattleBunker's Adam Sandler comparison. I've never thought Sandler had a bit of humor to offer.

I think one thing that bugged me a bit about this was it almost tried to parody some of these vehicles, and I have a long standing deep hatred of parodies.

Well to be fair worst and stupidest aren't necessarily the same thing.

The Manta Ray is kinda bad because of the Neon but it isn't stupid per say. Then again Sometimes vehicles like the Ninja spinning dice thing come along ( i actually had that thing for some reason.) and well those kind of fit in both categories but at the same time for a kid a toy is a toy in some sense.

I would say he chose those because for people of a certain time period the later vehicles would not click as much. The got older, the tv show was diff and so on.

Pay attention to the mamba's blades the way they are on the box art. The blade closest to the bottom would cut through the other's rotor the way that it is painted up, instead of overlapping one another 'safely' the way the toy comes off... That may be what the writer meant ;)

Well for one he has sunglasses so he probably can't see too well right off the bat. For two he is an idiot so to speak (Buzzer was the smart one according to the FC), and for three, Dreadnoks are stoners. The reason they like Donuts so much is they hide the ganja in them instead of brownies.

Taking all that into account I guess Torpedo is trying to get undeneath the Foil and set a bomb up or something and Torch is trying to take him out.
