Dusty is a personal favorite, I'm looking forward to getting him.

is so awesome I could cry.

I like both DVD sets. I'll be honest I'm buying them for the mass device anyway. So an army builder like the BAT and cartoon accurate looks for SE, Quick Kick, and Maj. Bludd are icing on the cake. Oh and the DVDs.

I actually like the look of this Serpentor better then the carded release. Part of ti si the coloring and part of it is all of the accessories. I also like the inclusion of the skeleton. I think that is a neat unique 1/18 addition. It just so happens it goes great with Indiana Jones, another Hasbro line.

Does anyone know why the control cubes have a center peg. I feel like it shoudl connect to soemthing dammed if I can figure out where.

My Dusty didn't come with straps either. Not that it takes away from the figure, but I hope Hasbro fixes that somehow. Mail away straps. :D Also Ron Rudat was a GI Joe designer and Tadur was a way of acknowledging his contribution to the line. The Tadur name appears on Dusty's filecard. You cna rea dmor ehere if you're interested. http://www.yojoe.com/faq/rudat.shtml

One thing I did notice with these sets (and the comic packs as well) is the limb-warping from the "dynamic posing" in the plastic trays. Seriously, both of my DVD SE's have crooked legs due to the way they are posed in the trays. And Serpentor, even though he's custom fodder for me, was like Justin said, warped beyond standing on his own two feet.

Seriously Hasbro, you're putting out great sets, stop ruining them with this "dynamic action posing" in the packages!!! :verymad:

My Snake Eyes was warped too. Just dropped him in some very hot water for about 30 seconds and they straightened out, after running them under cool water.

almost forgot to add, because of the neanderthal-way Quick Kick's neck is positions (too forward) his backpack doesn't fit correctly on his back, there's a huge gap that isn't flattering:

You're Major Bludd's face painted detail looks a bit better than mine. Even though the first edition used the wrong body his good eye was painted correctly. DVD pack it looks like he is stoned. My DVD Major also looks like an old woman did his eye brow.

I'm a bit ticked about Dusty. I assumed the all brown helmet skirt & no webgear was a cost cutting measure. To find out they just didn't care to include the webgear in some makes me a bit angry. We all paid the same price. We should have all gotten it.

Dang! Good catch on the cube and MASS Device pieces. I DID take pictures of all of that, but for some reason forgot to include them in the review. D'oh. I'll edit it this weekend and get those up.

Justin

Shouldn't the missing web gear be the sort of thing we should be able to contact Hasbro customer service about? That should be their responsibility dagnabit.

since your Dusty doesn't have his web gear, any chance of taking some pics of him with Beach Head's assault vest or Firefly's body armor? I'd think you'd be able to get a more realistic looking soldier out of him with those on anyway.

it fits rather neatly on the pegs of the tank tread base for the MASS. Bet it'll be swappable with the crystal on the last MASS piece too.

well, crud, I had two of the dvd packs, traded both dustys, neither of them had that gear. In my mind, webgear was the little belt and botttom part of the shirt, though now, I have no idea why I thought that.

Umm, C money, Spin, the dusty's I sent ya, well, I got some splain'in to do.

Great review Hawk, I really like the new look of the site as well.

you forget they were undercover and it wasn't Hasbro that did this. It was the old cartoons that they had him do all that. Scarlett and SE are an item in the comics. Another reason why I hate the Toons.
