Hmm, went to Target over the weekend and they were $7.54, and I got the comic pack on sale for $8 instead of for $10.99 because they sale ticket was still up and they have to honor it.

I don't want to be mean or arrogant, but to see the panic that this raise brings kinda amuses me. I mean you've been lucky to pay this low for your figures before while Joes have been $10 ever since the beginning of the line up here even when our dollar was almost equal to yours.

Again, no offence.

Agreed. My thoughts exactly.

Yes, but what does that mean for Canadian Joes?

$15 for a single pack figure? With the lower prices we've been seeing on shelfs (5 packs for $20!!!) is the price relief that we're seeing going to last?

I sure hope so...

Wow.. that's um..... ridiculous.

I actually hit up a bunch of Targets over the weekend and onyl one store had gone back down to the 6.99 price. A few had 7.50. I passed on figs at the 7.50 price.

There really is no way I'm spending 10 on a joe.

My Targets (2 within 5 miles) have Joes for $6.84. That's actually a drop form the $7.99 they were before. I'm in Seaside, CA. A hour South of San Jose.

Just checked Target and still $6.84 and still has the "price cut" sticker up.

My Target has ALWAYS been $6.84.

But $9.89 doesn't seem too unreasonable given the price of oil. We've been lucky for a long time.

Everythin'sgoing up, sad but true.

wouldn't the real question be whether or not Hasbro has raised the MSRP on figs?

to be honest, i'm more of a browser at target, and buyer from BBTS ... but i know a lot of others' who are buyers at target...

Here in Houston gas prices spiked like 30cents a gallon after Ike swept thru, but now they're getting to be 30cents cheaper than before Ike came thru. I know there's a significant lag time between oil being made into raw plastic for Hasbro to buy (or more likely the Chinese factory subcontractor to buy), but to jack the prices up the very same week gas prices are dropping isn't cool.

last week here they were 7.99 then the beginning of this week 6.84 so i'll go look in a day or so. If $10 a figure I'm not paying that. The $8 is bad enough.I'll have to be very picky for more than $8 if at all. :-(

$6.84 at the two I swung by today. I'm wondering if the 9 and change price isn't a drop in the comic pack prices that got screwed up. Even if the price has been upped, I wouldn't expect it to last. Retailer sales for September were just released and everyone except for Wal-Mart had lower same-store sales than last September. Basically that means that they aren't looking good going into the holiday buying season, which means discounts in droves. With the economic climate and the like Target is just going to shoot themselves in the foot if they raise prices like this.

Regardless, I'm moving to online as much as possible, so I can't say I'm terribly bothered.

KB's near me have SW basic figs marked $9.99 now. I can't say that this price increase is completely off the wall, even if I don't like it.

I thought the same thing when I first saw the price tag which is why I went and scanned the card at their little scanner thing. It came up as a single pack figure 9.89.

My Target remains $7.99 but increased prices on vehicles & comic packs.
You may not agree with my tactics but I'm sick of Target's price increases. Here is what I've been doing when Target has a new figure I want. I buy it. Next I buy a peg warmer at Walmart ($6.84). Then I return that to Target so essentially I paid $6.84 + tax for the one I wanted. All the singles use the same DCPI number so they don't care which figure it is. One of my Wal-Marts also don't care about the UPC number so I can return any to there.

Star Wars figures are $9.99 at Kohl's Dept Stores & at Walgreen's. It is really pathetic. The same old figures have been there since last year. I'm glad they don't stock any Joes.

This ties in well with the thread last week about how there's too much damned new stuff. If Target, a discount retailer, is jumping up its prices, everyone will be. Too many figures, now 30% more.

Suddenly, Master Collector's prices only seem unreasonable instead of insane.
