This has brought back a childhood memory – when my buddy got the Night Raven, the Joes were always breaking into a secret facility holding it parked on the tarmac, with lit flashlights all around the room for dramatic effect. After a raucous battle, we decided StratoViper had to get the plane out of there. My friend got this weary look on his face and said "Well, guess we gotta fly it out then. Gimme a hand." So we took both ends of the plane and flew it about 6 feet into the living room where, once again, it sat parked, this time on the couch.

The Night Raven didn't spy on too much when we were kids. The drone got sent out a lot though.

I had to actually look up the Hurricane on YoJoe, therein lies your answer.

I agree completely that the Hurricane is superior to the Rattler. As to whether it's the best fighter jet in COBRA's arsenal however is a trickier question to answer, on account of the Night Raven.

The Hurricane is one of those later Joe year vehicles that I'd love to see get a Modern Era version of, but I doubt it since Hasbro is concentrating on the earliest vehicles for now.

As I said before,the Hurricane is IMHO a better plane than the Rattler.

Unfortunately I don't have one because I've only seen 1 in perfect shape. It was cheap, and I should have bought it, but didn't because I didn't think I could get it home in one piece.

Living in Tucson, with Davis-Monthan Air Force base in town, home of a very great many A-10's which are frequently seen in the skies here, I'll admit I'm partial towards the Rattler.

I wasn't aware of the high percentage of landing gear breaks. Now I'm scared to move mine (OR my Tiger Rat) from their shelves. Does the landing gear more commonly break if it's been left in the lowered or raised position more?

Honestly, though, I have no problem with the Hurricane, and while I don't feel it's as impressive as the Rattler or the Night Raven, I do think it's been unfairly neglected and maligned over the years.

My biggest problem with the Hurricane is the pilot. Not only is "Vapor" a rather ridiculous code-name, but the figure has this really great uniform design -- and the most butt-ugly assymetrical helmet of all time. Pilot is dressed in dark grey and has a silver helmet that looks like a bad BAT head...

I think the hurricane just looks cooler.

The rattler always made me think it was stolen or bought cheap.

Then again, the hurricane has eluded me thus far, so maybe its got that far away charm,

I think they are both inferior to the stiletto. Or heck the mamba,

I only recently even heard about hte Hurricane, but it sure does look cool. All it really needs is the bright yellow toned down, to a color that doesn't scream "Shoot me now!" Somebody said that the Hurricane isn't a fighter, but it sure looks capable of air superiority. At the very least, it looks to be an interceptor.

The Rattler is basically a modified A-10. A cool plane yes, but ultimately only intended for ground attack. While it may be able to turn up its own tailpipe, it's still outclassed by a true fighter.

Personally, I'd rather have the Hurricane. The Rattler was the de facto Cobra plane, when I was a kid, but the 'cane has some sleek aggressive (bordering on the malevolent) lines that just push it over the top, for me.

I had a Rattler then. I have a new Rattler now.
I've never seen a Hurricane in person. I'm not convinced it really exists.

Therefor the Rattler wins.

The only issue I remember seeing the Hurricane in is issue #115 and that was only the silhouette of it. But I still would LOVE to have one in my collection as I love all aircraft.
I agree with the Hurricane would be my fighter/interceptor, Night Raven is a spy plane, and the Rattler is a ground attack aircraft. So they are are better than the other in thier main jobs.

How about this scenario....

The Rattler, Night Raven & Hurricane are flying along trying to prove who is best in the air.

A Cobra Stellar Stiletto passes by at 100,000 feet at Mach 15; a height and speed none of them can match.
The Stiletto launches three supersonic long-range missiles. The Rattler, Night Raven & Hurricane all three fall to the earth as burning carcases. The Stiletto flies by for a second pass and uses its laser to shoot any parachutes and kill all the pilots, just to finish off the easy slaughter.

How are you guys not finding the Hurricane? I have three of them, One perfect one without the drone, and the third without missiles (alhough that one is loared with a mix of General and Mudfighter missiles/bombs)

That being said, I would definetly say the Hurricane is better looking than the rattler. But I do have to say AS SOLD, the Rattler is superior in the weaponry and playability factor, being smaller and the different missiles.
However, once you alter the missile load, the Hurricane owns.
