Because this way they make sure you need the Night Force one too. Just like with Psyche Out.

Is it really that hard to produce the POC IG vest in green and throw in that gun instead?

Okay, I am definitely liking Repeater. This figure does a really great job of being what a modern-style figure of an original series character should be -- a good transition to the modern format. Very nicely done!

(And, Mysterious Stranger, it might be that hard with regard to those specific parts. Who knows if the molds are even still available? This happens with a lot of toy lines, unfortunately, and it's certainly happened over the long history of G.I. Joe, and definitely not just with regard to the Club's offerings. Example -- we were supposed to get the ORIGINAL Destro in the 1997-98 line. That sure didn't happen.)

The Club just used that vest last year on the Convention SAW Viper so I find it pretty hard to believe that the tooling is gone. And unless Hasbro is making some figures on the sly that we know nothing about and is using the tooling themselves then I don't know why they wouldn't use it. It isn't totally accurate to the vintage figure but they've done enough other updates to figures that this wouldn't be out of the ordinary. It gives Repeater his flak vest look with some pouches AND the connection to use the steadi-gun that is his most iconic feature. Without the steadi-gun Repeater is just a Leatherneck knock-off.

I like this Repeater, but he needs the Aliens gun.

I think I remember reading that the club was going to make small changes to the night force repaint figures.... so they wouldn't just be repaints....

I love, love, love, love this figure

I dig the figure too, but so far the club changes all seem to be the removal of accessories. Usually to the determent of the figure.

Honestly, I'm happy with the gun choice for Repeater. I looked at the reviews of that Con Set just recently and I really didn't like how they cobbled together his steadi-cam gun using the PoC Iron Grenadiers gun and the grabber arm for the bomb disposal bot. I'm of the opinion that with that accessory if you can't do it right, give me something that looks good and that thing didn't look good and it really didn't do it right. I like that modern SAW, so I think it'll work great. Maybe the thing works better than it looked, but to me it looked clunky and awkward, so I'll happily take something that actually works.

At the very least just throwing in the POC IG's gun as an homage could've sufficed. Instead of just slapping a generic SAW on him and robbing him of what made him stand out from other machine gunners.

The figure looks great, but where is the steady cam gun?

I think the figure looks fantastic! I'd be shocked at not having the POC Iron Grenadier gun if the accessory list hadn't already indicated he wouldn't have it, and I'm still surprised the Club didn't include it. The lack of that accessory would probably be a bigger disappointment to me if I didn't already have quite a few of those guns lying around.

Its hard to hear people cut down such a nice figure... I'll take any Repeaters from folks who don't like them. Not every one needs an exact replica...What made Repeater different was his back story, the gun was unique but he could use anything and be effective due to his experience.

Plus, as always if you want a different look, customize it.

I really wish I was able to afford all three of these FSS series of figures.

I've seen stranger things happen, and it's often not the Club's fault or Hasbro's. Could just be the factory in China has said, "Sorry, we can't find it." Not much to be done about it at that point. It's unfortunate, but it does happen, and can happen that quickly. I'm not saying that's what's happened here, but it does happen.
