I ordered the Wonder Grundy set off Amazon for $20 last night. Gonna bash her into that genius Barda, and Sol should be tweakable to proper functionality like Kilowog was. I'd like to get the SDCC set and Doomsday, but the smallness of the normal-sized humans makes them useless for bashing even if they don't fall apart over time. It just flabbergasts me how they think making these figs *just barely* too small for mixing with other lines is gonna work.

Man, if only all the figures looked as nice as the GL ones.
Instead they seem to get saddled with the tackiest costumes imaginable.

Aw, maybe some new Dex pics by Caturday, maybe?

I got my Wonder Grundy set in, and I must admit a goodly amount of pleasant surprise. I'm still gonna use Diana for bashin', but she seems to be a decent fig as is. I'm still very leery of the clear joint bits, and they still need to work on the solidity of their engineering, and their range of motion. But they're both a good deal better than the Kylowog pair.

Grundy's much larger than Kilowog, almost massing twice as much. He's easily as tall as the latest Hulk fig. His biggest detractions are that his right leg keeps falling off due to the shallowness of the thigh socket, the small R.o.M. of his elbows due to the sculptor's preference for silhouette integrity over poseability (he can neither flex to a right angle nor extend out straight), and the ridiculous amount of knives embedded in his back. No lie; the dude has ELEVEN knives perma-glued into his back (technically, one of them's on his lower back, possibly preventing him from bending back beyond standing straight). He comes with a twelfth knife in his hand, which can be 'stored' in a small hole behind his left shoulder. They're the biggest reason he's gonna need a full work-up as they're all gonna have to go as they just look stupid. If they weren't there, I'd just tweak him so his joints work properly and use him as is, but now I think I'll end up giving him a more traditional and menacing black outfit as I paint over the scars that'll be left once I cut them all off. Had I sculpted him, I'd have given him four knives and made them all removable.

Diana still has her terrible outfit, and I'm leeriest of her joints breaking on me, but she's otherwise perfectly cromulent. My biggest complaints are that she's got a gigantic crotch gap, ridiculously wide like a DCIH dude; and that the paint's scraped off the elbow joint pieces. A sword would have been greatly appreciated, and some sort of lasso should be mandatory for any WW fig, imho. Also, I just don't see the modern versions of her painting her nails. I quite like how flexible her hair and skirt straps are, tho. It no doubt just because she's so much slenderer than the other DCCIJ figs I've gotten, but her double knees actually work to give her a full squat pose. That's something few Joes or MUs can say.

I'm still not completely sold on these two lines, but I'm much less apprehensive about my future purchases (although I doubt I'll get to a point where I'll stop assuming they'll need work to be acceptable).

Has anybody gotten/seen the Arkham City Dr. Hugo Strange figure? Is he in the same scale as the rest?
