This figure that comes with the vehicle, his mold(aside from the face mask) is nearly a dead ringer for an accurate Cobra Trooper figure. Instead we got that other figure, which is cool, but not accurate at even accidently.

The glove are a little too thick, but the knee pads, helmet, pouches, boots, everything... is nearly perfect.

You know... I'll say this. I am ok with the motorcycle guys being static.

AS LONG AS

There are articulated versions of the same figures, as there appear to be with Firefly and Snake Eyes anyway. I've never been too thrilled with how figures sit on motorcycles in the past, and I'm thinking that these may sit a bit better.

Honestly though, I'm really not liking what I'm seeing for the most part. I liked the first movie toys a lot better. I don't see myself buying any of these with the exception of a Roadblock. If they give us ANY female bodies down the line I may get those too. I would lime to own a black Water Moccasin though.

Also...totally laughing with Duke in regard to his LOLer cannon.

Oh, yea, and I'll prolly go for parachute trooper.

In all, I feel like some of this suffers for NOT being more movie accurate.

It's still better to cut on drivers than regular figures, but it's still a huge kick in the teeth.
Is this how they expect to bring new fans to the brand?

Sure there's a Snake Eyes included with the Ninja Buggy, but if you want one that can be posed, you'll have to buy the one on card. At this point why include drivers at all? Maybe they think kids won't care as long as there's a figure in the box.

It feels like what Bandai was doing in the eighties in Japan. You get the vehicle with a grey pre-posed figure that you can replace with the detailed and articulated figure sold separately.

These are clearly (mostly) painted prototypes and not the finished product. You can tell by the plugged screw holes on the thighs and the hand made pegs on the knee joints. It really shows up in the hi-res pics.

That said I'll reserve judgement until we see some actual product and packaged samples.

I'd accepted reduced articulation drivers, but it's very disappointing to see that a good chunk of the figures only have single knee, and no ankle articulation. Not huge losses, but any loss at the current pricepoint is unfortunate. I love that the updated HISS seems to have an actual turret for someone to sit in. Hadn't noticed that the ShockHISS has the classic Shockwave gun in the low Rez shots. Cool.

I know that these are Protos, but look at the wax sculpts we've seen, the articulation is present from the get go. I'd love to get more, but I'd rather accept it as it is and be pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong

Considering that one of those Bike riders has Resolute/City Strike Snake-eyes Legs... yeah Pre-Production promotional samples. Before they add in the joints etc.

Though Some of the single card figures like Cobra Commander might look as though they don't get ankles or double knees.

What will suck is if these figures we are seeing without articulation ends up being figures such as Clutch. It would be fine if the vehicle had a figure we get single packed to be all Matteled out, but not one that isn't single packed. I'll be at the convention and I don't mind saying something. I hope others do too. Not chewing them out, just what we do here and constructively tell them thoughts on the decision. Point out Green Lantern and such. We'll see for sure in another week with Toy Fair.

...they made Jinx an SDCC exclusive. Okay, I'm honestly convinced they're just trolling us now.

Hasbro: Your screams just make it better for us!

I have actively tried to forget about all those worthless Batman movie toys, thank you very much. Though at least they don't do that with the main DC lines.

I'm more convinced that the HISS driver is Cobra Commander. I also wonder if these are near final pics, as they look like a mix of existing parts and work in progress stuff. However, I will openly say I think the dumb missile launchers need to go. Ditch them, drop the price by $1. I don't think kids want those weapons given how "well" ROC did and most are so big that the character would not actually be able to hold them unless they were Superman.

I didn't notice that either, and I agree it makes the toy that much cooler! I still don't have a love for it like I did SkyScream, but I'm definitely more interested now.

if you look close at the elbows & knees on this CC, they look ground down/carved --

maybe they're a new quality mock-up -

//mainly for the reason that these *look* like existing joints/tools.

otherwise, there's a whole lotta VvV feel to these figs...

With all the sound gimmick helmets and plastic masks out there, how come Hasbro didn't make a toy version of of the John's helmet?
