That could be said about many of the figures right now. Distribution is spotty for all of them. I've seen Rey plenty of times and wasn't even looking for her because I was waiting to find the Black series version.

That has to be the stupidest article I've read in a long time and in no way does the Clash of the Titans or Mork and Mindy lines have any relate-able reason to be mentioned in the same paragraph as a modern Hasbro line.

And as far as girl action figures not being made this is getting ridiculous. There are hundreds if not thousands of female action figures. Yeah, there's not many in stores right this second but that could be said about any good action figure line. Female figures are out there and easily acquired as long as you put in a tiny amount of effort

just a very small portion of 1:18 females from dozens of different lines.

Now show a picture of all the male figures made from those same lines... See the point now? It's not about "tokenism." The idea isn't that there needs to be more female figures 'just cuz'-- it's that female characters are routinely sidelined or ignored by merchandisers. The Monopoly game is probably the most prime example--the SW: TFA official Monopoly game doesn't even come with the main character from the movie. And it's probably not even a case of a conscious decision on the company's part it's just a blindspot and its that blindspot that gets called to task. Gamora was left off of GOTG merchandise because.... Wal-Mart didn't think 10 year old boys would wear a shirt that had a woman in a group shot? That might be true but you also are making it more likely that a girl never buys a GOTG tshirt...it's bad for the overall branding.

Someone posted a picture of one of those horribly ill-conceived multipacks that Target likes to do where they pack a bunch of figures who are readily available as singles into one box and sell it for slightly cheaper thereby insuring that the single figures pegwarm...I digress... so it was a set of those Titan figures for SW:AFA. It had Finn, Poe, Kylo and two Stormtroopers..... Where was Rey... the main character of the movie?

On the other hand, them Baroness/Lady Jaye 2packs are still peg-rotting at a lot of TRUs I've been to.

I saw a pair of them at the Hwy6 & 59 TRU in Sugar Land a couple weeks back when I was last there.

I don't think an SA Phasma exists yet? Do you mean a 5POA Phasma? I have that one.

So I just went and read the articles about Rey and specifically her not being included in the Monopoly game. This is where I call complete and total crap on those that are complaining about this. Have they seen the new Monopoly compared to the older versions? It's appears to be a different format, likely simplified. None of the characters are on the board itself. I'm not sure about the cards as I can't get a good look at those. But that leaves the character tokens to play the game with. It's not a Force Awakens Monopoly, it just Star Wars. So they included Luke and Vader from the original trilogy as 2 of the tokens. Kylo Ren and Finn for the others. There is a reference to the Trade Federation on the board which now includes prequels in the game. So out of 7 Star Wars films, the most recent not yet released at the time, one of those 4 tokens is supposed to be Rey? Foul.

In terms of not being able to find the Rey toys, welcome to the modern world of toy collecting. Electronics are the thing now. Kids don't want toys as much. Lower quantities made, collectors get their first because they have more passion and means to do so. I've seen Rey figures on the shelves. Here speeder which comes with the characters has been reasonably easy to find.

But even 30+ years later, the fact is that this is clearly a toy line that boys will find more desirable than girls. Yeah, it's marketed for boys because by in large, girls tend not to be interested in these kinds of movies. It the same reason why when Lego made the Friends like that was marketed towards girls, it was hugely successful. Girls wanted to play with girl stuff. They didn't want firetrucks and spaceships.(Tell that to the blowhard mother who complained about Target's use of "Girls Building Blocks" sign.) Hasbro knows all this this and they are in the business of making money. If they fill up on Rey figures that warm the shelves because of this "internet outrage" which is usually just a handful of people, they lose money. And those same people are usually the least likely ones that will actually spend any money. They just want something to complain about.

Sorry, but that's just BS.

Finn might be the first person you see in the original teaser but he has just about the same amount of screen time as Rey.

And why, if there was a worry about spoilers, would one division of Hasbro (the toys) be making Rey figures and another division (the games) somehow not be allowed to because of "spoilers?"

Devil's Advocacy: because there aren't quantity limits on how many slots can be in an action figure line, while games often have a maximum number of players? Turn that question on its head and ask why one division of a company would make Rey figures if there were an anti-female bias when another doesn't.

speaking of, is the batman vs superman toyline supposed to represent the plot of the movie relatively accurately? because if so one of the recent waves gives away something not in the trailers

The casting of the actor for that role has been in the news. So it isn't quite spoilerish even if we haven't seen it in the trailers yet.

Like I said, there are only 4 tokens in the game. 2 are for original trilogy. 2 for the new movie. One of them has to be a bad guy, so Kylo Ren is it. So that leaves 1 good guy left from the new movie. If they pick Rey, then people wonder why the hell they picked her and they start figuring the secret out. For me, that plot twist was one of the things that made that made the movie great. It wasn't just the happenings of the movie itself, they were very calculated in their marketing ahead of time.

As AdrienVeidt said, the game had limited pieces. The figure line didn't have such a limitation.

Yeah, I saw that today. But as mentioned, that character has been cast. And let's also keep in mind that the average action figure line based on a movie that might in and of itself have a rather limited cast has been known to go beyond that case for the action figure line.

I don't remember any Skrulls in the Avengers movie, but there was a Skrull figure -- and actually a very nice one really -- made for the Avengers toy line.

Back to Star Wars Episode VII figures, I have to say I was pleased to see that there's a 6" Black Series First Order TIE Fighter Pilot sold all by himself. Even if I could afford it, which I categorically can't, I don't know where I would've put that TIE Fighter that Target got. And it looks like the only difference between the Black Series TIE Fighter Pilot that came with that, and the one that's on his own, is a bit of red striping on the version that comes with the Fighter. And if I want it that badly, I can do that myself whenever I get the regular version.

Yeah. Rey figures simply don't exist. Her 6" figure, three 4" figures, 7" Disney Store exclusive figure, Titan sized figure, Lego minifigures, buildable Lego figurine, countless plushies, Disney Infinity piece, POP figure and countless other pieces of merchandise are just a figment of my imagination. These articles are written by people who haven't walked down a toy aisle in 20 years. I'm surprised any of you side with this, because you should know better than most what has been released. Just because it's hard to find (because she sells well), doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

And my TRU never even got the LJ/Baroness two pack.

I don't see any listings for a Titan sized Rey. They rest of the stuff exists, however I was unable to find any of it for Christmas gifts. Friends have little girls who've got space madness and little Rey figures of any any sort would have been great gifts. The problem here is the problem Hasbro always seems to have which is not anticipating demand and not getting desired product to shelves.
