Let's face it people, the designs might be simpler, some PoA might have been lost, but the Retaliation toys are fun.
I got Zartan today and even without the double knee joints and ankle articulation, it was still a pretty cool figure. All the basic GI Joe PoA are there with the addition of the wrist swivel. Still better than a lot of toys that are on the market right now. Plus he looks creepy, he'll become some underworld assassin/thief.
Snake Eye and his bike. After too many Street Hawk episodes, I decided to get that bike. Guess what? It's fun too. The bike has pegs to hold the figure in place and it has a fun crank and go gimmick with having "training wheels" on each sides. The design of the bike looks good too. Riding Snake sports 7 PoA which still makes it better than a Mattel toy.
Red Ninja, the star of the line, the scalper bait, well it's fun too. I would have liked the simpler belt to the sash, but it looks and poses pretty darn fine.
I picked up Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, today. The zip line stuff is more entertaining than spring loaded launchers, but I'd still rather have ankles on all the figures, and maybe a few more accessories.
The single knees don't really bother me, since they seem to have a pretty good range of motion (unlike some of the single knees from the 25th line) but I have a hard time justifying nine dollars or more for a figure that doesn't have ankles. Dunno how many figures I'll be buying, once they're finally widely available next year. I'll mostly be looking for custom fodder, so ankles will be a must. (unless I invest in some small Revoltech joints, if they even come that small)
