Pretty sure the "ninja commandos" are a different scale.

It looks like quite a bit of articulation is missing from cobra commander and roadblock. For standard movie lines, whatever. But for GI Joe, THE articulated action figure, it's like dumping on the brand. Reminds me of the JVC garbage. At least this stuff looks better.

The vehicle drivers look pretty neat, but the potential lack of articulation means that I'll definitely try and get them on clearance. I agree about the improved color palette. This line looks so much more visually exciting than ROC. Looking forward to a closer look at Toy Fair.

They've always had "regular" and "variant" single card exclusives at SDCC. Gold and silver PDD, blue and black sport coat CC, pink and black Zaranna. So the red and white Jinxs fits the profile.

I know. I was responding to where Pluv said it was assumed the Red was coming in the movie line.

I think Pluv was trying to say that there may be a mainstream release of the SDCC variant, only colored in red. I'm personally not too optimistic about that possibility either, but it is a possibility.

Yeah, the speculation, and it is all speculation at this point, is that since she has so much screen time that we'll get more screen accurate versions within the retail release of the line. Neither the 86 masked red version or the white unmasked version (possible Marvel comic reference) have been seen in the trailers. So ti is a possibility. It makes sense, kind of.

I'm not really optimistic myself. Releasing similar versions to the SDCC exclusives kind of takes away from the exclusive aspect of them. Maybe different molds are another possibility. Some have said Hasbro creating that new head sculpt means we'll be getting one, but we've seen a lot of new tooling go into the exclusives and not get used again.

I really hope the drivers aren't unposeable.

Because when they do it with Iron Man, Spiderman and Captain America, it's fine because there's a regular figure with the exact same look, but with Joe these guys are unique.

I'm pretty sure we'll get a masked yellow Jinx at retail.
The same thing happened with RoC Destro. We got a masked figure at retail, but the unmasked figure sporting the actor's likeness got the exclusive treatment.

5 poa drivers for GIJoe would really be a new low for Hasbro.
I don't mind if they don't have ball jointed wrists and ankles, but don't skip on elbow and knee joints because the figure comes with a vehicle.

Yeah, but we wont get an awesome Jinx like the SDCC one. Just like we haven't seen the Destro suit since that con.

... do the old destro in armor and destro in suit count as variants?

Those Jinx figures look awesome. Bummed they are SDCC exclusives. They look like the best of the bunch. Still excited about the other stuff, especially some of the vehicles. Really like the add ons to the Vamp mold. I'm hopeful they all have full articulation. One of the drivers is holding a gun. I'm betting they do and this is just very early stuff.

Not really since they came in the same box.

The 3 packs are not a different scale! They are using the same formula that has worked so well for Star Wars and Marvel. I will say this, THESE are SO MUCH BETTER than RISE OF COBRA!

I don't think anyone said the 3-packs were going to be a different scale...

Non working treads on the tanks. Another step backward! :-/

Maybe they drilled holes in the bottom of the not-called-the-water moccassin to make sure it won't float, too.

I like Ninja Truck, Ninja Buggy. NINJA NINJA!

"I got a fever and the only prescription...is more NINJA!"

When did attending SDCC become a prequisite for getting popular characters? Who thinks this does anything but hurt fandom?

I'm hearing General Krell from CLONE WARS is gonna be a Con exclusive, too.

They just spend money on new tooling for a limited run item, then continue to cheap out at retail releases while retail prices rise.

It makes perfect sense to me for this Jinx to see an SDCC release. We're bound to get a couple Jinx figures in the retail line and since retailers are picky about female figures in boys action figure lines, it is entirely justifiable for them to release the classic themed Jinx figures as an SDCC exclusive. As for lack of articulation and other oddities, keep in mind that these are heavily photoshopped pictures. You really can't judge them based on these. Wait until we see final figures first.

I do find it a bit odd that Hasbro says retailers aren't too big on female characters, when Mattel has no problem including several of them in their DC lines. For that matter, Mattel doesn't seem to totally flood the DC stuff with numerous variations of Batman, Superman, etc, not near the levels Hasbro does with their cast.
