Joepackage is showing off some of his packaging and design work. Some of that includes the cancelled IG and Steel Brigade 5 packs.

He's posting a bunch of cool stuff but these are figure breakdowns and mock ups that show the exact colors and articulation as well as parts.

Beautiful.

Darn shame the SB pack and the Destro never came to fruition.

I would have bought those figures if they made it to production. Especially the Benchpress and that Destro.

I have to admit I'm a bit curious how Flint was going to fit his helmet over his beret....

two heads are listed in the parts list, one of which was to be new tooling.

Those are fantastic though. I saved each of the mock-ups just in case Hasbro came calling to demand those get taken down.

I assume the paint selections referred to are from a Hasbro specific type. I remember hearing in the past that certain brands could be matched up with the Hasbro colors fairly well, but would be awesome to be able to take one of these images to a store, and get those specific paints just by matching the numbers.

Also, I can fairly well ID parts, but has anyone ever dug up a list that matches too number with the common ID for various pieces?

I don't know why but I'm really digging those Steel Brigade figures. Something about them just tickles me in my "gotta have 'em" spot.

The IGs don't look that much different from what was in the Con set so no big reveal there. But that IG Destro... DAMMIT! Why couldn't the Club have put that figure in the Con set in some way? I love that we got Voltar and they knocked him out of the park but damn I would have LOVED to get that Destro in there somewhere too.

They could have had him instead of that Sgt. Major figure...

Exactly! But then they would have had to pay for that Destro tooling to come out of mothballs for production and that would have increased their costs. But man, to think of what might have been makes me sad.

I think Skyduster is my favorite of the lot, and I DEFINITELY like the Steel Brigade logo/emblem.

Dunno if the de-mothballing would've been that costly given the torso, skirt and holster pieces were already out for Brekhov, and the legs were there for FSS Iron Klaw....

Regardless, that Destro is pretty sweet, and if they could swap out the head for City Strike Destro's, I'd totally buy a release of it.

It would be cool to extend an offer for him to post here. He'd be at home with JC!

I do hope if nothing else that the club does something with those Steel Brigade figures. All of it looks cool. We did get those IGs at least in a form.

What a shame these got shelved and we got those lackluster movie box sets instead. Hopefully these make it out to retail in some form some day.

No, those are pantone colors. You can just go buy them. I recommend this site:

http://scalemodeldb.com/paint

That site has a few uses. You can look at all the colors by pantone number, but you can also upload an image and have the database figure out what brands make colors that are close.

Usually when I find time to do customs anymore, I am fine with buying a few extra colors to do it the way I want it done. So it makes sense to get the closest color to start and I used it a few times.

I am surprised to see the reactions to Destro. That figure was shown online a few cons ago and IMO was a good thing to skip. My collection has plenty of Destros compared to all the items that did make the set. I would agree that he would make a nice FSS release just to expand the set and because he is a cool design. But the set was better off making something else.

oh I wish that Steel Brigade version of Bench-Press had seen a release. I hope it still does someday (hello GIJCC), my SB squad needs him in the squad.

yeah, that figure would have really helped legitimize him as a new character.
