Okay -- so I'm thinking about selling my "fleet" of custom Armor-Bots. But I'm not so sure how well this will work. Here are some of my concerns.

I have no idea what these might be worth to someone, and doubtless it will vary. I would expect, for example, the Crimson Guard Armor-Bot to be worth more than the Lunartix-Bot.

Shipping is the big concern. These Armor-Bots are big, bulky, and most significantly, fragile. Shipping will not be inexpensive.

Thoughts? Am I nuts for even considering this?

First, are Armor-Bots selling on eBay?

If so, what are they going for?

Second, customs do seem to make money, so it is an option...

Thank you, Pluv! I knew there were pictures of them somewhere online.

$15 for shipping on an Armor-Bot? That CAN'T be Priority. I'd even be a little surprised if it was Parcel Post.

My suggestion would be if possible take pics of each with its intended sub group of figs (the nazi one with that 21st fig SS set). This will add an appeal factor and also I really wanted to see that for a long time personally. There are so many cool customs that people don't photograph with the group it is intended for

I don't actually have that complete set, but a few years ago, I snagged a couple of them at a local toy show where someone was selling them individually 3/$5.00.

So... here you go!

And boy, was that Armor-Bot dusty. If it hadn't been for the paper labels, I think I would've put it in the shower. They customarily sit on a couple of very high shelves in my high-ceilinged kitchen, and it's been a while since I've been up there. Wasn't even entirely sure I could GET up there...

If you sell that Nazi bot....Use a picture like that..after dusting and put *figures not included shown for scale* or whatever they say... and probably would attract a few more buyers.... and the shipping of $15 was those of MIB figs... don't know how much shipping would be cause I don't even own one and was just giving you a idea of what others were charging ....

Does usps.com have a postage calculator? If so, weigh one, take some rough measurements and see how much it'll cost.

Yeah, they do. I've found its reliability to be -- open to some interpretation,

Wait, you made a Mortal Kombat Armor Bot but not a Street Fighter one?

The hell?

Sweet!

I had 3 of those at one point and sold em all. Now i am thinking i want to track one down again.

I think you really want to put a real dio together for each one so people can see potential for their fave sub team to be improved

15 is a pretty good estimate of shipping price. I think the last Armor bot I shipped out was some where around that. Always enjoyed these customs btw Trekker.

My full time job is selling on Ebay.

Shipping is easy simply box one up the way you would for safe shipping and measure the box and weigh it and enter it into Ebays calculated shipping. Then it will price shipping for anywhere in the world. International Joe interest is very large and I sell most of my customs over seas, but remember that anything you have priced to sell for over $250 (total including shipping) needs to be shipped with signature, which means that for international you need to only offer USPS international Express mail to be covered by PP protection. You can also add a couple dollars as a handling fee and I usually add an extra pound or so to make sure that I am covered.

The big thing to remember about custom vehicles, is that the market for customs in general is smaller and even worse the market for vehicles in general is smaller. So those two factors added together can lead to your item bombing at auction, or taking quite a while to sell at fixed price.

So you will likely want to list these for 30 days at a time with fixed price and best offer. You are not in a hurry to sell them and likely would not be bothered if they did not sell. I would list them at fixed price between $199 (generic ones) and $399 (Nazi and such) with best offer. I would picture list and box (to prevent future dust) and set them back on the shelf.

Ebay fees have went through major changes in the last couple of years and now if you do not have a store you get 50 free auction or fixed price listings a month. So if you list them all and let them set for the right person it will not cost anything until they sell for your final value fees.

Do not down play the popularity of the Lunatix franchise because there are some real fans of that sub group.

Once again the important thing to remember is it really does not matter to you if they sell or not. The listings are free and it is a win win. If they sell for a chunk of cash that is great and if you get to keep them in your collection that is great as well.

That is the way I sell GI Joes. They are not the heart of my business, just a little bonus. If they never sell it just means more for me. LOL
Right now I buy lots and break them down and sell them all individually for the extra boost of income on top of my normal product but in the future I hope to keep about half of each lot I buy and use it mainly just to pay for growing my collection.
