If you won a contest to decide the next GI Joe vehicle built and released by Hasbro, what would you choose and what specifics would you request? It can be a re-release, a redesign, something from a show/comic that was never produced, or something never even in a show/comic that would fit well as a Joe toy.

This is pretty hard for me as I have probably a dozen or more I would like to see happen, but if I had to choose one, I would choose to make a redesigned Thunder Machine. I would want it larger, perhaps a four seater. I would want it gimmick free with realistic gatling guns. And I would want it equipped with implements of destruction (axes, sledgehammers, and a chain saw).

The Locust.

I loved how compact but fun the original was.

I'd want it to be kinda retro if re-released. But not simply re-released. It would need to retain the shape. That was part of the appeal. It needs to stay with its namesake and be bug like. I'd move the guns. I used to
take the guns off because they interfered with the aesthetics. Not sure where to put the guns. Obviously it needs guns. I'm assuming shorter guns would be counter-intuitive to physics or something like that. But even on the box art the guns look out of place. However, I wouldn't want it to be bigger so making it bigger and then figuring out where to put the guns isn't the answer.

But yeah... the Locust.

This day and time with kids always loving construction vehicles, I'd go with the Earthquake. It was a great vehicle but suffered from horrible colors. If it were done up in better colors and made to look right, I think it would get a lot of interest. Great box art and everything, it would have kids wanting it just as an attack construction vehicle. They would HAVE to put a real figure in there too. One thing Hasbro does not take into mind is if a kid is introduced to GIJoe through a vehicle, and they get a cruddy figure, why would they want more figures?

F-35 with modern gimmicks, but still sleek and lean. Give it a spinning VTOL fan with sounds, deployable landing gear, and for fun make the Marine version and have Gung-Ho in pilot gear. That'd be a blast. Or a new character, I don't care.

Long story short: fighters rule. Do some.

New: the Marvel Cobra transport helicopter. Besides the Crimson repaint of the NAC, Cobra doens't have an equivalent for the Tomahawk to transport troops and small vehicles.

Retooled re-release: I want to say Desert Fox but the new VAMP kind of fills that role. So, I'm going with the Thunder Machine for the Dreadnoks. A lights and sounds light bar. Motorized front chain guns. I think that could be fun and hold a bunch of the Dreadnoks. Then they can release repaints of the modern ground assault sets to go with it.

Like pluv, if I had to choose a vehicle that hasn't really been done, it would be the Cobra transport helicopter from the Marvel comics.

For a retooled re-release, the WHALE gets my vote. I don't currently own one and don't want to get one until the issues are fixed with the fragile parts. A re-release could hopefully address those issues and make an iconic vehicle more available. Plus, as has been discussed, there's SDCC TF crossover by repainting it in Seaspray's colors. :)

Do you mean this one? Because if so, I completely agree. It was one of my favorites as a kid.

I'd love to see the Coyote from the Renegades line see the light of day..with Roadblock as the driver
I'd like to see some of the smaller vehicles released, since there's a 25th VAMP, why not the VAMP Mk II using the missile launcher from the Arctic Wolf/Snow Cat thing, but the new Ninja Cruiser sorta fits that bill
Maybe the Night Raven, reconfigured with the cockpit able to accommodate one Strato-Viper like the SkyStriker
Was the Ferret released as a 25th style vehicle? If not, that.
The Thunder Machine could use a redesign
The Slugger, but with a second seat...the idea of a single seat self-propelled artillery piece was always a bit confusing to me

I'd say in terms of a rerelease, I'd go with the Killer Whale. The original is amazing, but the plastic has not aged well and has parts that are particularly brittle. A new one would be the same size, but with more detail and a sturdier structure. Second choice would be thunder machine or a v1 style hiss with moving treads. Or how about a redo of the cobra STUN?

As for all new, I'd want the cobra transport chopper. Or a new dreadnok vehicle. A swamp air boat would be cool.

HAVOC.

Also wondering how a modern version of the BF2000 Battle Fortress would look like...

I'd have to go with the others that say the Killer Whale. Same reasons, fragile parts. But it is also a very cool vehicle, very unique to the line, and has good repaint potential.

For a reissue I would go with the original Night Raven complete with all the original accessories/features. The only thing I would change is that I would give it the same type of cockpit gimmick as the ROC version and get rid of the old ARAH version (still a 2-seater though).

For something new, I actually would love them to do the Jetwave boat (from KREO) as an actual 3 3/4" vehicle. It would have to be roughly the same size as the Moray Hydrofoil, but it would be a great "new" addition to the fleet and give Joe a rough equivalent to the Hydrofoil. (The Whale is great, but I always thought a hovercraft against a hydrofoil was kind of lopsided.)
