On occasion I talk with my coworker about our hobby and have found myself having to explain to them what certain terms mean when I use them in conversation. We all know what we mean, but outsiders don't.

I thought maybe it might be time to add a segment to the wiki so that the newbs can use it as a reference until they get used to what the words mean.

These are examples of words I mean:

-Bash
-Kitbash
-Bootleg
-Knock Off
-Peg Warmer
-Endcap
-Big Box
-LBC
Anyone else think having this type of list might be helpful and/or can add to it?

If you come up with the definitions I'll put it in the wiki.

Thanx, I've been thinking about for a couple of weeks and now seemed the right time to ask.

Alright.

Can I solicit help with definitions in this forum or is there a better forum for this?

I have no idea what LBC stands for, and have been too embarrassed to ask.

Here is fine. We also have the Acronyms and Abbreviations list. http://wiki.joecustoms.com/wiki/Acronym ... reviations Does anyone see anything that needs to be added for that? I went through and put a couple that weren't in it.

Here's some ideas to add in. I threw in a basic description for each too.

Short Ship - a toy that was no shipped in large quantities.

Single Pack - A toy that was only packed 1 per case.

Scarce - An item that is very hard to find. Sometimes to the point that some people never have seen the item in store.

Rare - An item that is hard to find but still within reason that most people will locate it with persitance.

Hard to Find - An item that is not shipped as well as other items in a given toy line but not impossible to find.

Cheap Plastic - Low quality plastic that is easy to break and brittle.

Great Articulation - A figure that has a reasonable amount of articulated joints and presents a fun toy to pose in many ways.

Poor Execution - A fairly well designed idea but the over all offering just doesn't present a good product.

Poor Design - A toy or figure that is not designed well. Be it cheap plastic or just does not work right.

Fanboy - A fan that is overly enthusiastic and will like anything that comes out within a particular toy line no matter what.

Appologist - A fan that feels a company they support can do no wrong and will argue a subject to the point of alienating themselves within a community.

Expert - When a fair amount of pears in a collecting community consider a person or persons to be well knowledge and a "go to" person for advice or news.

Perfect - When a figure or toy item is considered by a larger portion of people to be as well designed as it gets.

i always thought LBC was "life based custom" for some reason. Holy crap guys...the glossary has to be the best idea I've seen in a long time.

dasaffe-if going by the way it is used in poll, I take it to mean "indifferent", or either/or, in terms of choices.

is dasaffe still on the board?

I always assumed an inside joke that I didn't bother getting to the bottom of. He's actually posted quite a bit of late.
