Is anyone else getting a Sigma Six vibe from this figure? They are 6'' tall as opposed to S6's 8'' tall figures . It was bound to happen at some point and Lanard is the company youd expect to do make a Hasbro KO...

EDIT: And 5 years later....Dragon Do bodies have been repurposed for the new Lanard Super Solder 6'' line . Unlike Dragon Do which couldn't be found anywhere except Post Exchange and overseas (?) these are showing up at your neighborhood Walmart

Wow, yeah. Sigma 6 all the way. These would have been perfect if they were the same size as Sigma 6. I could see several easy customs. But still they're not bad figures for that price.

Interesting... I think it looks pretty cool, too, but as a 6" figure, it won't fit in anywhere, so I likely wouldn't pick any up. Also not a big fan of the swivel elbows...

Yeah I just wish Lanard would have gone full knock off mode and made these the same size as Sigma 6. I'd want a few of the ninjas to make Cobra Troopers. A swivel elbow isn't that big of a deal to turn into a ball jointed elbow. It's a lot easier than turning a hinge joint into a ball joint.

Scale and sculpt wise they actually remind me more of the Action Man ATOM stuff, which had a lot of similarities with Sigma Six, both in construsction and style. Gotta say, if I ever saw these on shelves I'd be sorely tempted. I love these funky niche lines, and kudos to Lanard for trying another new property not tied to any thing else, that's rare in and of itself.

Not my cup of tea, but pretty cool looking. He looked really good standing next to Shredder and Casey Jones. Almost like he belonged there as Casey had a similar looking body, proportion-wise.

In terms of construction/engineering, it almost seems like what you'd have gotten if a JvC era Joe had an offspring with a pre-anniversary collection Star Wars figure. Some weird choices were made at that party.

Not into the stylized look/proportions or scale at all.

Lanard almost seems to be competing against Mattel for the mantle of the most ass-backwards, dated company. Their figures seem permanently stuck in the 90s, while Mattel hasn't evolved past the late 80s.

Even Jakks has evolved past both of them, which makes me feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Would they go with those "Action Battlers" that were released during the movie? I can't remember how tall those were.

Nope, those things that came out during the movie was 5". There are several of those still at Big Lots.

Interesting. Definitely they have a Sigma Six style to them, but they're also distinctly shorter. I got a kick out of how the reviewer mentioned the good paint jobs. I recently picked up Lanard's "New Recruits" from The Corps, and they were very neatly painted -- moreso than some other figures I've picked up from companies that should be doing at least as good of a job. At 6", these things aren't Sigma scale, and I haven't seen them ANYWHERE locally. At $2.98 apiece, you're certainly getting your money's worth, and they seem to be well-articulated. May have to keep an eye out.

My thoughts exactly. It breaks my toy lovin' heart to see aisles filled with the same old properties . I love seeing new creative ideas (or even hodge podge rehashes of old ideas) in toy form.

The figure linked to in the original post seems like he'd be a great Sigma Six trooper of sorts based upon his sculpt. With regard to scale he'd be quite short though so i suppose one would need to extend his extremities with BAT technology and make him a cyborg.

I like them. That toy looks like fun, and that is enough to enjoy a toy.
