As a member of the Crappy Figure Brigade (go to Joecon, you'll understand) we discus the greatness, or crappiness of figures and vehicles... that being said:

whats your opinions on the Thunderclap? Is it an important vehicle in your joe arsinal, or a total waste of space?

I say it's fun. IIRC it's based on a real world vehicle too.

I like the "final solution" of it and the Rolling Thunder. I even saw one repainted as a Cobra vehicle and it made more sense.

Yeah, I did a Cobra version about 5 years ago.

It is based on a real world vehicle and while I don't REALLY feel its needed as a Joe vehicle, its nice to have. I imagine it would be be used of course in long range combat, like 5-10 mile long range combat. When Cobra Maggots are off in the distance, keeping you pinned down, you break out the Thunderclap and wipe those suckers out.

I did like the Cobra version better, because I felt Cobra would have a heck of a lot more fun using them against cities and for executions.

I like it, especially the artillery cannon shells feature to it.

and the separate tanks make it worthwhile, always thought the one that had the flip open entrance was pretty cool, and a favorite vehicle as a kid, along with the little one from underneath the raider (also belongs in the crappy figure/vehicle debate)

I'm not a big fan of the vehicle. There isn't anything necessarily wrong with it per say, I just don't find it interesting. However, I wouldn't lump it with the crappy vehicles either. It has tons of play value and certainly looks interesting. I guess at the end of the day for me you've got a limited use armored vehicle with a bunch of smaller vehicles that I feel are easily replaced with better vehicles that serve the same purpose.

I've had so much fun with the TClap, you have no idea. It was so cool back when I was a kid, for many reasons. You could fit a million joes on it, it had a huge gun, it had detachable vehicles and it just looked good. Today I like it cause it looks awesome on display. Army build these bad boys for added effect.

That's some creative execution. Does a figure fit in the cannon?

I like it. Granted it's not something I would use all of the time (if I had time to play with my Joes), but I can imagine the Thunderclap working in conjuction with artillery spotters miles away.

Imagine a squad of Joes doing recon and calling in fire missions for the Thunderclap. Hell, you might even break out your Sneak Peek figure and have him sight in some Cobra fortifications with his periscope. Add a Vamp or a couple of AWE Strikers for a quick getaway after the artillery is dropped and what you have is a recipe for a whole afternoon of playing Joe.

I think it's pretty cool. It hearkens back to the huge railway siege guns of the 1st and 2nd World Wars. Sure, Tundra Stalker hand-loading shells in it is patently absurd, but there were elements of Joe that were from the very beginning.

Certainly won't see anything as imaginative in the line again.

No, but you can tie a beligirent Viper to a tree and blow his ass away from 10 miles away.

Zombieguide gave me the clap. Having the clap wasn't nearly as fun as receiving it. Although I don't consider having the clap much fun, I'd probably be happy to pass it on to anyone else.

Cobra Clap of GI Joe clap, I don't think it matters. I guess you'd associate something as awful as the clap with Cobra more so than GI Joe. But I think for play value, the storyline would be that GI Joe doesn't have the clap themselves, their mission is to protect the public from the clap; which the United States possesses as a deterrent, but doesn't want released on its own people.

Yeah, I appreciated the vehicle even more when I found out it was based on these kinda pics:

I also used the two smaller vehicles a lot for other missions.
