Check your local Toys R Us. These are from the Prince Caspian Line and the first waves have been showing up for a litle over a month now.

I've done some box-to-box size comparisons in the TRU; even the true adults (soldiers, the 'king') are considerably shorter than 25th Joes. Of course, I failed to wander to the Speed Racer area to see if they are in scale with that.

The small-scale minotaur, though, is nicely just above 25th's height, which made him a buy.

The Prince Caspian figs are taller than the Build and Brawl midgets, but shorter than most 25th figures.

The nicest ones are the creatures. That Werewolf is SWEET!

I have several of these. The monsters are great, though the "action" features are lame, at least on the Wer-wolf (mine tends to get stuck in mid-roar). He is, however, *the* definitive werewolf for me and if my Vanguard Joeverse ever comes back, he will be Doc's lycanthropic form. Oh yes.

The figures are more...meh. Every single one is cursed with an action feature that means you lose shoulder articulation in the right arm (the left is fully articulated); with the one soldier figure, you also lose elbow articulation (all the others I have feature articulation, hinge-joint style elbows). Heads are iffy at best, poorly detailed and molded. Castle Raid Peter probably has the best of the head sculpts that I saw (good paint apps and detailing); on the other hand Final Battle Peter looks like they threw some paint on a half-formed mold and dotted the eyes. One of the two Prince Caspian heads could actually pass for Severus Snape (seriously, it even looks mean!) They're very much on par with some of the Golden Compass figures in terms of head sculpts, but body wise are more detailed and better constructed (ie., the elbows won't pop off in your hands.) Speaking of hands, they tend to be a bit large, far larger than 25A, bigger even than RAH.

The bodies are very well-detailed, so with a head swap you can make some pretty decent medieval or AD&D style customs with these, and fairly well-constructed (ie., durable).

What I like are the weapons. They're made of a good, stiff plastic (better than the POTC flimsy swords) and all the sword-wielders come with working scabbards! The soldier (whose name escapes me as I type this despite having just looked) comes with a good selection of goodies (buckler shield, pole axe and sword) despite being the worst figure of the line (no elbow articulation on the right, horrid action feature, super wide stance legs and a head sculpt that would make his momma cry.) Still, all in all, not a bad deal for the price, and like I said, the monsters are definitely worth it.

I'm waiting on that castle to be released. It just screams "Castle Destro" to me.
