Interesting stuff there. Hawk will have brown and gray hair, BBQ doesn't have a removable helmet, Storm Shadow's filecard has some fanwank stuff about Ninja-Ku, Battle-damaged BAT parts won't be "in this wave," etc.

I'm happy about brown-haired Hawk (sorry comic fans) and bummed about BBQ's head (but not too much, easy to pop the noggins).

I kind of figured the BAT's extra parts weren't going to be included. I'm sure they'll be included in the comic pack for issue 44

The Q&A has been removed. Dude took his toys and went home. Says, "this post was about showing off my connections, since you're not praising me I'm deleting my original post". What a hoser.

Yeah...that's one of the reasons I stick to this site. Most here aren't like that.

But as far as the info dasaffe posted from it...I'm glad that Hawk has brown hair. When I was younger, I never knew there was a blonde 82 Hawk, and I always wanted the brown haired 86 version my one friend got from his older brother. So he's never really been blonde to me. The Ninja Ku stuff is cool, it's a nice little nod to collectors who know about that sort of thing, and sort of surprising they would do it, but it's a good surprise.

Eh - to be fair, there were enough a-holes posting in the thread to make me want to do the same thing. "These are NOT the questions we asked" and "Who the hell asked these" are typical asshat responses and I'd be inclined to say ""LASER BLAST" it" myself. I didn't read it as the guy was trying to show off his inside "source" like so many others have done before (no, Hawk, I'm not talking about you :P ). I don't know the guy, but he seemed to be doing a genuinely nice-guy service on this one. Although I'm wondering if his Hasbro buddy started feeling heat and told him to knock it off.

Hrm. That's strange that he pulled it down. Here's what else I remember:

No removable helmet on Snow Serpent, but goggles are a separate molded piece attached to the helmet, so they're clear (but not removeable)

BBQ and SS are the only two figures that share molded parts with other figures. Everybody else is new.

What he didn't ask, and I'd like to know, is why Bazooka has single-jointed knees. I hope that's an early proto issue and he will have double-jointed knees. A TOW soldier definitely needs that articulation.

There were a lot of asshats in the thread. Even so, it seems like an overreaction to pull the Q&A.

Hawk with brown hair -- well, I suppose it is in keeping with the original version. On the other hand, one of the first things I did with my original version was paint his hair blonde. Frankly, I've always thought it was a huge improvement.

No removeable helmet on Barbecue. Unfortunate, but again in keeping with the original figure. Then again, and correct me if I'm wrong since I have not been paying significant attention to this line, they did give Snow Job a removable hood or at least removeable goggles, something the original definitely did not have.

Ninja-Ku references on the "black Storm Shadow" card is actually a pretty cool idea. A little something for the longtime collectors who know about such matters.

No battle-damaged BAT parts doesn't bother me, since that's not something I'm terribly fond of, but I do think I may well want that BAT!

That is weird I went through the thread and it looked like some idiots got confused about this being the Q&A from Hasbro to be the only really negitive stuff I saw (Unless it was the people mad about BBQ's not removeable hemet). Still that is a bit of an overreaction with all the uber praise that was coming out.

Personally I am pretty ok with everything. BBQ never had a removeable helmet so nothing major there. Serpants, I was iffy on removable helmets with the DTC ones anyway. BAT, we'll see battle damage later.

Is hawk with brown hair that big of a surprize really? I mean he is modled after the V2.

Ninja Ku reference is awesome too I want to know to what extent.

I think pulling the post invites further ridicule.

I was dissapointed about Barbecue until people suggested switching the heads - its so easy to pop off and exchange heads now you can make every figure helmet free at will.

Other than that I think they all look and sound awesome. Best wave yet!

Pulling it down was a douche thing to do but lucky for us I copied and saved the whole thing. :-D

Quote:

Here is the Q and A list as promised. The Source is a friend of mine from Hasbro, I talked to him this morning on 4-9-08

A. Yes and Yes. I think you will be pleased.

A. No

4. Q. Is BBQ's helmet removable?

A. No

5. Q. Are the goggles on Hawks helmet removable?
A. No

6. Q. Will the holster that is being used for Hawk v2 be the same one used for Steeler?
A. No

7. Q. besides Storm Shadow, is the rest of wave 9 completely new molds
A. Yes all are new molds except Storm Shadow and BBQ whose parts were retooled from Snow Job.

I'm curious to hear about the whole Ninja Ku thing. I don't like the idea that they are yet ANOTHER secret ninja group, but we'll see.

At least they're paying it lip service.

"The rest of wave 9 is all new molds"? Hmm. Just to cast a little doupt out there, that Snow Serpent CLEARLY uses the legs, possibly more, from that arctic Snake Eyes, and what looks like it may be the Snow Job upper torso (which would make sense, as the original SS had similarly located pockets under his web gear).

Just sayin'...

Snow Serpent's boots are clearly different to me. The upper legs look very similar, due to the cargo pockets, but the boots are worlds apart.

Brown haired Hawk isn't that big of a deal to me. As far as my collection is concerned, in the 25th Ann line there is only the comic pack Hawk (unless the 3-pack I'm forced to get to get Grunt turns out to be better) and he has blonde hair. Single joint in Bazooka's knee...no problem...he's just a poor excuse for Zap so he'll be passed over. No battle damaged BAT parts, I'm ok with that too. Those will come out eventually as Hasbro can't use a mold just once and I can't think of any characters besides Overkill that could be made from that BAT mold. Didn't really plan on getting and of the Snow Serpents. And the only "Ninjas" I have are the two Storm Shadows I had to get with the Cobra 5 packs so I don't see the need to start getting any now. And last but not least...BBQ....if I pick up this guy it will only be to remind me of the way he was done in the remade Joe PSAs so helmet on is just right.
My real question though is, is the head that comes on the new V2 style Hawk different than the one in the comic pack or is it just repainted? If it's different I'll pick one up to use the head as someone else. If it's repainted (which is what I expect it will be) I may still pick it up for the same reason.
