Ick. Astromechs: The only thing less interesting than a pack of clone troopers with slightly different color splotches.

Yeah, like I said, when the pieces started to come together that it was all astromechs, I was very disappointed. I really think it's slimy the way they said things like "SA, realistic, The Vintage Collection style articulation!" to get our hopes up, only to drop 6 repainted Astromechs, with the Jabba Barge drink tray that came with the TVC R2D2. (and really it's the same mold as that R2 D2).

2 OT droids, but the rest are Clone Wars Cartoon.

Bleeeeeeah.

I read the initial announcement and had my money ready to buy the set. From the early hints, it sounded like I'd probably like at least 4 or the 6 figures and the 2 I didn't want would be easy to sell off. Then I see Astromechs. Ugh. I don't get the love for that design and the desire to have it in every color imaginable. I haven't bought an R2D2 since the '90's just because the first couple were pretty much all I needed from the character. This was such a letdown.

Yet, it will sell out and double in price on the aftermarket.

QT-KT in her Clone Wars appearance is a nice touch if only because of the history behind the character. One of the saddest, coolest stories.

But the rest, meh. And that is from a droid lover.

I was skeptical when it was revealed as an EE exclusive and promoted by a certain Star Wars fansite runner/EE employee (who once advocated the end of super articulated figures because he was bored with them and as mentioned, he's a champion of the 5 POA figures). The dude loooves astromechs, from what I recall.

So yay for him. Being a big fish in fandom pays off for some people. :-/

I'm impressed they made the obscure Jabba bartender droid, but the price of the set is a joke and I don't go out of my way to buy astromechs.

You know, I used to really look forward to SDCC Hasbro presentations, but jeez. The big $300 walking AT-AT (er AT-ACT as it were) is underscaled. (though I do like the bunker feature I have to say). They revealed 6" figures that I would love to have...if only they were 3.75" SA instead. The only 3.75 reveals were a Poe Dameron 5POA 2-pack (with a white-pauldron Snow trooper) and a couple cartoon figures. (I would buy a realistic Thrawn, but I can't bring myself to get the cartoony figures.

There was a pretty decent Thrawn released a few years back in a comic pack.

While I don't like that pretty much the only things I like anymore are in the 6-inch scale, I'm glad to finally see a Hera figure that doesn't look like crap. Otherwise, it is depressing (as a long-time SW collector) to see these displays and not see much I care about.

Walmart exclusive series will continue. However I still haven't found the wave with Capt. Phasma, old Han, & old Leia.

Same here. One store finally sold through the Finn wave and they restocked with the Commander Doom/Thorn wave.

Yeah, "diverse range of interesting dudes" pretty much tells what they were gonna be...
