I think I got sucked in as well. The arms bothered me at first, too.
Initially I bought the Custom Megatron, and picked throught the Joe bags and I found a BAT! I thought, what the hell, and picked up Ripper as well.
The arms look ok for armor, or short sleeves, but it bugs elsewhere.
Whats dumber, is they made new arms for the Transformers, so why can't they make plain arms for Joes?
Overall, the brick quality is almost on par with Lego, the printing on wave 2 is kinda iffy.
The prints on the Transformers and wave 3 is top notch, though. Lego set the bar too high for competitors to match with their printing, I think.

I went back and picked up Predaking, then got Torch and Lady Jaye from Wave 3...
Definitely going back for more.

Those aren't new arms for the TF's, they are the Alien arms from Battleship.

Regardless, they are very addicting. This newest wave made 11 of my customs obsolete. Wave 4 will render more to the parts bin.

Nope. The Alien arms from Battleship are totally different from the TF arms. The TF arms have the blocky shoulders while the Alien arms are longer and more mechanical. The Joe human arms have rounded shoulders.

I think he was talking about the alternative arms from the customizable TF sets. Those came from the Battleship aliens.
All of the human Battleship figures have the same as the GI Joe figures. The TF arms have blocky biceps, and these were used on Major Bludd's right arm, as well as all of the GIJCC Kreons.

I was talking about the new, blocky shoulder arms. But yeah, the weird bio-mechanical arms are new to me, too.
