So my PX is clearancing the Kre-O Battleship sets.
Any advice on which one to get?
My possible goals:
- have an enjoyable afternoon building
- Possible do a custom cobra firebat

I was thinking the alien strike aircraft may have some good peices for firebat wings.

Any advice?

Alien strike is $15
Battle base is $20
Missouri is $34
Smaller sets are $4 and $6

They are all pretty nice actually. Get one of each if you can - the figures arr good as backup support or customs. The Alien Strike is probably your best bet to make a Firebat, although it has no solid red pieces. You might be able to cobble together a black and gray version though.

I can post some pics of my custom figures if you need some inspiration.

Thanks, leaning towards the strike fighter. Might get others if they go to 75% off.

Stupid Lego/kre-o customizing question: can you/should you paint building block pieces or is it better to find the pieces in the color one wants?

Very nice, thank you, I had forgotten about that post.

I ended up getting the battle platform set for $20, plus we had a %15 off coupon.
I will go back sometime during the week and get the alien strike fighter, but I plan to enjoy this set as it has a scuba diver, a stealth sniper and the alien figures heads look like they could easily be used to make a Lamprey, AVAC or annihilator.

The battle platform is very nice. The alien heads only work on the alien bodies. Some modification would be needed to make them work on the human bodies. But I like the ideas you mentioned.

If they have the small battle set with 3 soldiers and an alien get it. Those soldiers make for awesome Kre-o greenshirts.

I use the aliens I have as a B.A.T. variation. I have nearly grabbed this set a couple of times as it would give me a basis for a Cobra Tactical Battle Platform. And the Kreons would add to my squad.

I use the eye patched one with the beret as Sigma 6 Sgt Stone. The other two have been assigned names but I'm drawing a blank right now. The diver from the dive sled I use as Wetdown.

I found that the Alien heads can fit on the soldier/sailor bodies, but upside down (and sit very "tall"). This might make for a good Star Viper once the eyes are painted.

I plan to cut off the neck connector and drill a hole where it was so it can sit on the neck in this position, and paint over the eyes under the visor silver. In addition, I think the Alien figure that came with the Missiori is light blue and will make a good lamprey. If I can get it to work, i will post over in general customizing.
