In 1964, the original man of action debued on store shelves across America, 1969 saw the first adventure-esque GI Joe, then in 1970, the Adventure Team with fuzz-heads came to the retail-rescue, 1976 saw the Super Joes :-/, 1982 dawned the release of the 3.75" Joes, in 1990, the Classic Collection came about, and the 30th Anniversary in 1994, Sigma 6 :-/ came in the 2000's, and in 2004, the 40th Anniversary was intoduced pairing figures with accessories, and the 25th and 30th ARAH Anniversaries followed thereafter along with movie merchandise for each respective movie. 2014 marks the 50th year of GI Joe's existance on this earth, and I recently emailed the GI Joe Collector's Club and asked if Hasbro had plans to do anything for Joe, they said it was classified, I've got goosebumbs.

Tell me what you would like to see...

I don't collect the 12'' stuff, so I'm not really sure what they should do there, maybe just a retro man of action. As far as 3-3/4 and this 50th, will they really do something? I would really just like to see the 30th line put back into production.

It would be nice if Hasbro offered up some Adventure Team ideas in 4" scale done to look better than the club has. I'd dive into that myself. Other than an occasional 12" Sideshow or something like that, I've pretty well dropped collecting that scale.

Yeah, and I doubt Hasbro would've said anything, either. I'm sure they have something in mind, but I'll be surprised if we find out much before the late summer conventions. Maybe San Diego. More than likely New York.

I suspect one big factor will be how well the movie and its merchandise does, because one of the factors will be, as with any toy line from any company, convincing the retailers to carry it.

Well they're already busting out the Tomahawk in August this year before the 50th, so anything goes.

I'd love to see some 4inch retail Adventure team sets, out in some articulated beaties (Yeti, large tiger, whatever just so long as it is excellent).

Hopefully some 12inch figures that aren't those horrible 5pts of articulation jobs coming out this year for Retaliation.

I really hope we will get something special.
It would be cool to see Adventure Team sets at retail.
I love the sets they made in 1994 for the 30th anniversary with the four classic Joes done in RAH style, so I hope they'll remake those in modern style figures. It would be awesome to have the old scarred face GI Joe join the crew.

If it were me, it would be a commemorative box set with a 12" Action Soldier retro style look, O-ring Snake Eyes v.2 with Timber ARAH, and Modern ultimate Roadblock. All in a book style flap opening window package with art from the best of the 50 years on the cover. On the back would be a blurb from Alan Hassenfeld with thumbnail pics of all of the people who helped make GI Joe what it is. Bonus points if the box had a AT dog tag pull tab that played some commercial audio or something.

Man that would be awesome.

Maybe a 2 story mini-comic insert, a Marvel run issue on one side, IDW current run on the other. Ah hell why not, throw in a flag point patch while I'm at it.

Perhaps something similar to the 40th Anniversary, but not paired with the equipment. And why stop at the Action series, continue on to the Adventure Series, but stop at the Super Joe line (icky). So you would have Action Soldiers and Men of Action on the store shelves together almost unheard of except in a second hand shop. But I like the Idea of The Metamorphasis of GI Joe (pluv), and the coffee table book (nova), mabey even NEW Action and Adventure Sets...

And I did try to contact Hasbro roguetiger, but you had to be a member of their community, and I didn't want to mess around with that, so I figured GIJCC would be the next best thing since the two are pretty kith & kin.

I would like the idea for the 40th Wal-Mart exclusives that did not ge put together. A sorta best of the best series. A 40th box set (Action Marine with Medic card), a exclusive O-ring set of Duke, Snake Eyes, and Roadblock with the APC, and a 2 other box sets (those Battle in a Box). For the 50th do a couple of coffin boxed 12" Joes (Soldier, Marine, Sea Adventurer, Land Adventurer) maybe a carded set to go with each. Then a Hall of Heroes style 25th figures. "Ultimate" Snake Eyes, Duke (using vintage style head, not Tatum), Roadblock (vintage head, not Rock), Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, and a Cobra Trooper. Use vintage card art in the HoH box. Throw a few small vehicles in vintage style boxes (Ram, Trouble Bubble, Fang) and we are set.

Oh and that coffe table book of box art would be nice too!

I just thought of a Super-Articulated GI Joe Figure (Modern, used for the Classic Collection Sniper Figures) with Bruce Willis' Face on it, the Action Soldier of today, an he comes with a plethera of accessories, modern weapons, as seen in GI Joe 1 & 2, but also Classic Weapons from a time ago, M-16, M-1, Colt M-1911A1, etc.

A book like that, would be worth every peny/pound/dollar/franke/yen it cost.
