I'm confused. So should I or should I not be sure to get a carded one in Indy to scalp on ebay for a ridiculous amount? :shifty:

I think this is the Club's best original headsculpt, and it really captures Iceberg.

The head looks to be the same exact head as vintage Iceberg. If Mysterious Stranger's post is accurate, it's apparently a placeholder and the final product's head will be closer to their Dial-Tone and Footloose heads...

And in any case, the problems people are having have a lot more to do with the body construction than with the head. I don't think anyone expressed displeasure with the head yet.

I was expressing my pleasure with the head, regardless of whether anyone was displeased with it.

I was not happy with the Footloose or Dialtone heads, though. Both looked old and grumpy. But I also dislike the overly red colour the club favours for Caucasian skintone. At least this time that shouldn't be a problem.

Its funny how different figures are recieved. Some people really like some of the Nightforce convention set that I just don't care for and now some people seem to really dislike this figure that I really like. For some reason, even after all the negative comments and pointing out of flaws, I still think this is a good figure. It captures the feel of the original character and I'm glad they didn't do a modernization and put him in a heavy parka and heavy pants (not that anyone suggested that here) that makes some arctic figures very similar to each other. Even if they don't address some of the concerns on here before actually producing it, I think I'll be happy with it when it arrives.

I'm sure that despite the general dislike mentioned here, it will still go for $200 on eBay right after the con. Dialtone did, and I thought he was hideously orange.

As for this figure, I'm apparently the opposite of everyone...the more I look at it, the more I like it. He is a little top heavy, but I kinda dig him anyway. The accessory compliment is great as well.

He needs a coat. He's going to be cold just wearing a really ugly shirt, no matter how many live animals he has on his neck.

It just looks pieced together. I understand what the club was going for, but he looks so oddly proportioned.

This! It just does not "flow" together well. I kinda like it, but it appears to be in the WIP stage still. Maybe it is because it is just photoshoped and the finished version will look better. I am just torn on the liking or not liking it.

it needs a belt. A seperate piece like the one off Sci-Fi, Zap, RoC Snake Eyes, Roc Shipereckn or similar. It would help the proportion issues between the lager upper half and smaller lower half. The tiny waist with the green 'buckle' is totally awkward.... it was sculpted to have something placed in that spot like Snow Serpent, Blowtorch, arctic SE, and the aforementioned Seymour Fine.

also the goggles STILL sculpted as part of the hat? c'mon, man, there are plenty of different goggles availible from 2007 on they could have used. They don't even need to function by fitting over his eyes, they could just sit there on his hat and still look more realistic.

Hopefully his parts will change like Footloose's did.

Footloose had a change of part?

That's the first I'm hearing of that. Can you fill me in on the details?

They swapped his arms. The first photos showed him with I think ROC Stone uppers and Bazooka lowers. Then the production sample appeared and he had Kwinn arms. It was that change that finally got me to register.

I hope Iceberg is improved. New head sculpt, new legs and a belt and he might be cool. As-is, blech.

That's how I feel about most of their offerings, and it's why I'm glad I'm not hardcore on the collecting side of the fence. If I want the character, I'm much happier to make it myself, perhaps even with the same parts, from figures obtained for much much less.

I'm also in the camp of understanding the intention but not being overly impressed with the result. I'm sure the figure will be fine for me, but it does seem like better parts choices could have been made even if the figure lost a bit of accuracy. Hopefully the actual figure will look better. At the very least, I've still got an Iceberg head sculpt that might get some use if the actual head is just going to be a retool of the original.

I personally like the 25th style figures that are simply updates of their vintage counterparts and this guy works for the most part for me. The Snow Serpent collar is a bit oversized and unnecessary and the Spirit thighs are definitely an odd choice maybe they're the only thighs that work with the lower legs (also Spirit's), but I like that he doesn't have a "coat." I'm tired of figures that can't hold their weapons in a two handed pose because of a bulky over jacket. I like that he's coming with cancelled Duke's snow board and back pack, but what's with the Recondo rifle and not an M-60 with an obnoxiously huge pistol grip? I'll be glad to be getting this guy.

Just waiting on Keel-Haul :keelhaul:, Toll Booth :tollbooth: , a decent Frostbite :frostbite: , Fridge :fridge: and Cross Country :crosscountry: (maybe Tan Clutch :clutch2: ) now...

Also, Dial Tone (both) looked a little dower, but it was still a decent head sculpt. Claymore's head was good for Claymore, but too intense for Footloose. I liked the lighter skin toned Airborne head with the painted mustache used on the RoC Footloose better. A bit younger looking and "happier."
