I want these, but will have to order, since there are no TRUs nearby. I like them and don't see them as a 'gotta have them all' so I can just pick the ones I want. Woot!

I'm disappointed that Snake Eyes has a peg on top of his head.

How does Kreo stack-up (phrasing!) next to Lego in terms of size and/or compatability? That will dictate whether I get any for my boys or not. Though, as I said before, a Lego Joe video game would potentially have been the best Joe game ever, and the presence of such a game is usually key to getting my oldest interested in the toy itself.

My son has the KRE-O Ratchet from the Transformers line. The pieces seem to be pretty interchangeable with his Legos. I would guess that KRE-Os are the next stage of the old Built to Rule line. I've had no problems using those pieces with Legos to build 1/18 scale vehicles and environments. Looks like I might have to invest in some of these.

Here are couple of quick comparison shots of some Lego figs, Kre-O figs, and Mega Blok figs. I would love to see the Kre-O's get a good elbow joint/swivel arm. But they are still better then Lego figs. Also the Lego figures accessories will work the Kre-Os.

A small line comparison of the figures.

KRE-O figs definitely look better than Lego figures, but I'd take Megablok over either, if they made the characters I collected. Megablok has really come into its own over the last several years.

Yeah, those Megablok figures (especially Iron Man and War Machine) look great.

Yeah, but they're not exactly interchangeable. Lego and Kre-O use very basic bodies that can just be recolored and re-accessorized into anyone, really.

Those *two* aren't very interchangeable, but MB's Marvel line wasn't a whole lot more than a nude buck repainted and given different heads and gear. Same goes (so far) for the WoW line and the Halo line gets by with a limited number of bucks, and is emphasizing the interchangeability with the added fig parts in the Armory packs.

Ultimately, the only substantive different between the various lines is the figs. Personally, I don't prefer the animated/brick style of the LEGO and Kreon humans. After 40 years, I'd be real interested in any attempts to increase the artic and realisticality of the core figs. I'm pretty sure the molds have paid for themselves by now.

This. I didn't like LEGO when I was a kid, because I hated the cartoonish little characters. I liked my action figures being realistic looking. The few LEGO things I got, I never put together as the kits intended. I put them together so that Joes would fit in them. I don't even remember what happened with the figs, they were quickly discarded.

Got my G.I. Joe Club Magazine in the mail today, with the full-page preview of the KRE-O toys. A few random thoughts from yours truly...

I realize it's not to scale, of course, but they actually improved on the design of the Transportable Tactical Battle Platform in some respects. And doubtless it can be constructed in several ways.

What's really funny is how much the Trubble Bubble looks like it's action figure counterpart. Like they really didn't have to change all that much...

Is that supposed to be the "G.I. Jane" battleship, legendary from early issues of the comic book? I mean, I see a little figure of Cutter there! VERY cool that this finally got made in some form.

What the heck is that Cobra robotic thing. Some sort of upgrade on the Armor Bot? or maybe the Power Fighters/Defense Mechs!?

I hope this line does well for Hasbro.

The Cobra armor is loosely based on the SNAKE Armor design from the Renegades cartoon.
